The members of JANIE started playing together as a summer project in July, 2006. After frequenting the local bar scene in Iroquois Falls, singer/guitarist Janie Romain, with the help of lead guitarist, Ryan Edmunds, and drummer, Don Elliott, decided to make serious business of their band.
They played some notable gigs like the Porquis Blues Festival, their Municipal Canada Day Celebration and even opened for Alannah Myles at Paperfest with two other members under the name of "Orange Voodoo".
They continued playing under the principle songwriter's name, Janie, and managed to record their first few tracks.
The band's first line-up change took place when they temporarily brought Josh Lambert in to play bass. The band has recently relocated in North Bay where they enlisted Chris Hall as their new bass player.
Planning is under way for a full length album in the next year.
