How many fates turn around in the overtime

About Me

I love dramatic gestures, and honesty, and new experiences, and benevolence, and people. And rosé. I am too overenthusiastic about a lot of things and am often ridiculous. I hate animals. And cartoons. I will think you kick ass if you are creative. I think long walks in the park are pretty cool, would be pretty happy about world peace...but fluffy kittens are overrated. I adore live music and I put on gigs and music events...see below. :)
VERY IMPORTANTLY I am booking bands for THE SECOND SATURDAY AND THE LAST SATURDAY of every month - both Jericho Music Box nights - at the infamous Jericho Tavern in Oxford.
www.thejerichotavern.co.uk
Please send demos to Che @ The Jericho Tavern, 56 Walton Street, Oxford OX2 6AZ.
ALSO! I like to see people being creative, especially collaboratively. So if you are a musician, poet, artist or similar lovely type and fancy meeting others and showing off your wonderfulness please join THE SOCIAL PARTY in my top8. The last Social Party event is described below, and I will be doing a reprise this October so it becomes an annual thing, as well as a similar event before that this summer, details to follow. Message me or The Social Party to find out more. Thanks to all involved in Synesthesia, both nights were amazing thanks to you! And thanks to all who came, please join The Social Party in my Top 8. For those that missed it here is the blurb:
Acoustic songs alongside an exhibition of artworks, all inspired by and inspiration for one another. Art inspired by music; music inspired by art.
Musicians and artists based in Oxford and London worked on original pieces for the project, and then used each others pieces as inspiration for more original works. But all of this is without having met.....until the performance nights!
Synesthesia II will be happening October 2007, with more fun before then, so artists, songwriters and poets please get in touch and keep reading the blog! Don't forget to join The Social Party in my top8. You get eternal life. Disclaimer: the last sentence may be a lie. xxx

Music:

Rattlesnake Remedy (see top8), Tori Amos, Rock as in anything they play at Eddies, sexy choons from Mrs Badcrumble, girly girls with guitars a la Nina Gordon of Veruca Salt "fame", Damien Rice, Guns n Roses (yes it is possible to like both of those!), Goldfrapp, Interpol, Air, The Caesars, Joy Zipper, Led Zeppelin, Letters To Cleo, The Killers, Beth Orton, Jewel, John Lee Hooker, PJ Harvey, Free, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cream, The White Stripes, Aerosmith, Patti Smith, AC/DC, Velvet Revolver, Fun Lovin Criminals, Massive Attack, Portishead, Lemon Jelly, Nikka Costa, Paula Cole, Imogen Heap, Joan Osbourne, the satisfying sounds of Def Leppard, ridiculousness such as The Donnas, Jet, Curve, Suzanne Vega, Snake River Conspiracy, Dressy Bessy, Fatboy Slim, Radiohead, The Cardigans, The Sundays, Skunk Anansie, Beastie Boys, My Bloody Valentine, Counting Crows, Death in Vegas, Marilyn Manson, Garbage, Hole, Racine, Kasabian, Muse, The Bangles, Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, Lizzie West, The Pretenders, The Beta Band, Gorillaz, Placebo, The Zutons, Mazzy Star, Electrolane, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Prince, the Stones, and of course Simon Mastrantone and the wonderful people on the live music scene in Oxford - check out my top8! x

Movies:

Basically I will only watch films where nothing happens and people have some sort of understated drama involving long looks. A few exceptions only. Awesomeness can be found in SIN CITY , Closer, Confessions of A Dangerous Mind, Angels in America, Lost in Translation, Japanese Story, SECRETARY, The Virgin Suicides, Casino, Scarface, All the Real Girls, Carlitos Way, The Godfather, anything with Patricia Clarkson in except The Untouchables, The Safety of Objects, Spiderman 2 (!!!), Threesome , Bound, My Dinner with Andre, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amores Perros, 5 x 2, Fight Club, Memento, Spinal Tap, Annie Hall, Mannequin, Gia, Heathers, A Life Less Ordinary, 9 Songs, The Godfather, Crash, Sideways, The Dreamers.

Television:

24 is genius and Jack Bauer is a legend of our time. I don't watch any tv so my credit card cries with box-set pain.

Books:

On the Road, anything by MAYA ANGELOU, anything by RILKE, anything by Milan Kundera, Christopher Isherwood's Prater Violet, good old Michael Ondaatje, Nabakov, Jane Austen, Robbe-Grillet, Camus, Capote, Keroauc, Jean Cocteau, Virginia Woolf...too many..ahh...brain explosion. I have decided to read nothing but short stories for the next few months to get my head into short fiction, so then I can write some again and bore people into reading it.

I am 62% Tortured Artist.
.. Art is significant in my life, people are scum but I have the capicity to deal with it. Give it a few more years and I will either forget about art or hate the world. Take the
