"GRIND DON'T STOP"

About Me

Events by Eventful Fresh. Innovative. These are just few words to describe YOUNG RUFUS, out of Memphis, TN. Imported into thecity Three 6 Mafia, 8Ball & MJG, and Yo Gotti made famous from Chicago, YOUNG RUFUS plans on premiering whathe calls the “New Memphis”. “No disrespect to the people that laid down the foundation before me”, says the 22-yearold. “Although I’ve seen it and been around it, don’t expect me coming with that ‘D-Boy Shit’. I wasn’t on thecorner hustlin’. You ain’t gonna catch me frontin’ in the booth being something I’m not. What I plan to do is showthe world that Memphis is not one-dimensional”, says YOUNG RUFUS. “MCs here exist and I’m just one of thefirst of them that you’re gonna see.”
The young phenomenon has been through many struggles to reach the level he’s obtained. “I’ve been through COUNTLESSbad production deals, independent label deals, management, you name it. I’m now finally in a space where I’m able tobring my music to the world and be able to profit off of it. I’ve been doing this official for about 8 years now andI think it’s a blessing in disguise as my journey in this music industry has humbled me, and appreciative ofeverything I will achieve.”
Recording in the studio since the age of 14, YOUNG RUFUS has definitely polished his craft. “I’ve been doingthis so long I do not write verses down. I just let the beat loop over and over and come up with how I’m gonna rockin my head. It’s more natural and honestly it’s allowed me to elevate my game as now I feel like I’m on par witheveryone else in the industry.” In an era where album sales are low and digital sales are high, YOUNG RUFUSplans on becoming a legitimate artist with star power. “The reason why I feel album sales are down is because theconsumer can identify with the song and not the artist”, says the youngster. “The artists these labels areinvesting in have no story to tell, these artists are not trying to add nothing to the culture and create their ownlane, and you can’t fool the buying public forever. They’re not as dumb as you think they are.”
YOUNG RUFUS has recently released his buzz worthy club anthem “She’s a Pro”, produced by PCPMUZIK (Lutinent G) which is currently gaining spins steadily throughout in the Memphis area. “The reason why Icall the record ‘She’s a Pro'is because women can identify”, says the self-proclaimedrookie-of-the-year. “Every female feels like they’re top notch status and don’t belong on an amateur level. Whateverthese ladies do, they’re a pro at it.” The song is creating a following that is unbelievable!
YOUNG RUFUS is currently working on his debut album entitled “THE BOOMBOX”, “I call itTHE BOOMBOX because that’s where hip-hop started from. When you listened to the radio or the tape, youhad it rockin’ from The Boombox. I’m trying to bring that feeling back. I got club records, records to make youthink, hip hop records, all around I feel like I got the album of all albums.” So far on the project he’s workedwith Drum Squad producer Swizzo (Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy, Pastor Troy), The Beat Eaters (Plies), as wellas upcoming producers such as PCP Muzikand O’Brian. Expect this album to be one you’re able to listento from beginning to end!
