Don Marquis:
When a man tells you that he got rich through hard work, ask him "Whose?"
Successful people are the ones who think up things for the rest of the world to keep busy at.
All I do is think. If nothing else, I think haha.
Video of the summer
I got rid of the huge 50+ top friends list, for the simple fact I no longer talk to 90% of the people on there. I don't like them. Jk haha but honestly, I took down the list because it's too common of a thing to display nowadays. Also, to elaborate on why I am not as active on Myspace as before: well in the 3,4 years I've had a Myspace, I was never really one to be super active, but I think once it became oversaturated with the billion record labels overnight, corny rappers, the spam, and all kind of other nonsense, I lost interest. Hopefully that'll change soon with the future endeavors.
Some people often ask "why don't you put out any music anymore or update your page". Well I'm waiting on Tom to update his page first, then I'll follow the lead. Actually, I'll update it in the near future. It'll be an interesting update too. As for music..Music?! Psh, I still make music, but I don't have the same interest I once had in the industry, so for the time being, I don't make music for the masses. Plus, things haven't been the same for me since my grandma passed. I need to recapture that Eye of the Tiger. I have a love/hate relationship with my music. Above all, I guess I've grown up a bit. I was once in awe of things that went on in the music industry, but now, I just find it idiotic and depressing. Btw, I have low tolerance for idiots, and I hate depression.
Public AIM Screen Name: Don Marcos DM
I go on AIM from time to time. Technically, I'm signed onto aim all day, because I never turn off my computers. My away message is usually up, but I am signed on with my phone too, so hopefully that answers some questions.
Random stuff about me that I ended up typing (obviously):
OH MY....I converted my page to an "artist page" and it erased my profile and layout.
Some people say I'm conservative and somewhat intriguing/mysterious..well thanks. I like it better that way. For the most part, when it comes to me, you're only gonna know what I want you to know..unless I feel comfortable with you enough to expand on the "knowing" ha.
For now..
I'm in my 20s. I produce music, and I also write screenplays, in hope that one day I will be able to rent my own film(s) from Blockbuster. That is my ultimate goal in life. Well one of them. The other would be to star in the sequel of The Girl Next Door.
Oh yeah, I guess you could say I'm skilled when it comes to fixing computers (software related issues). So if your computer gets filled with trojans, spyware, adware, etc...you know who to ask for help! (I am really gonna regret saying this. I know it).
I've been into music for as long as I can remember..Music/Film=My life ...not married, no kids (love kids..kids love me, but I don't have any yet).
I love video games! Sports! Vampires! (I know what you're thinking..I am not weird...well a little, but you're stupid, so now what?).
I love women.....a lot. I wanna meet Adriana Lima, and possibly fix her breakfast. I'm almost certain my french toast and grape kool aid would win her over. I can feel it.
I'm an 80s baby. I mastered Reaganomics. School of hard knocks. Every day's college. I love the 80s and almost everything that dealt within our generation (80s and early 90s) except for biker shorts and high-top fade S-Curls. You gotta admit though, the 80s were the only time where a guy could wear a pink tank top with extremely tight nutsmuggler jeans and still be considered hardcore. Oh how times have changed.
I'm putting out a magazine this year, and it will be something fresh and innovative. It will launch online first, and before summer is over.
In the 80s, I was in love with Apollonia, Vanity, Sheila E, Goldie Hawn, Kelly Lebrock, Sade, Charlotte Lewis, Demi Moore (/1990), and about 10 other women that I'll add later.
If you ever get to know me, you'll know that I'm a die hard sports fan. If I had to choose between a Chicago Bears game and my life, I would choose.... DA BEARS!
I'm a big fan of my Chicago teams, of course.
Chicago Bulls
Chicago Bears
Chicago White Sox
Chicago Cubs
Chicago Fire
Chicago Blackhawks..errr nevermind that one.
But I'm also a HUGE fan of boxing, soccer, MMA, golf, tennis, and softball.
I think college football is the greatest thing ever.
Notre Dame has always been my favorite football team.
I think Da Bears will win the Super Bowl.
Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. Only on the internet will you find a group of fools that will go against the grain and say otherwise...and 97.3% of them are from LA. Go figure. Stupid always-go-against-the-grain people.
Roy Jones Jr. is the most gifted and talented boxer of our generation, and possibly ever. Find me a boxer that started their career at 154-160, won championships at each division onward, and moved up 4,5 divisions from the start of his career to challenge and beat a heavyweight champion (which hadn't happened in 100 years, then lose 25 pounds of muscle to drop down in weight, just to defend his Light Heavyweight championship..btw, he won. Shuttup.
Nothing against anyone (everyone I know!) who does, but I don't smoke, drink, eat meat (besides seafood and chicken). I haven't in about 6 years. I'm tempted at least 5 times a year to eat beef ribs, but I always fight off temptation.
I can't sleep unless I put on one of my favorite movies. I'll spend a half hour going through dvds, just to find one movie to fall asleep on, during the opening credits. Yeah, I'm stupid.
I'm very critical of myself. I never think anything I do is good enough, whether it's music, writing, or even making kool aid, but at the same time, it is what pushes and motivates me to continue on. Chyea, I persevere!!! I too will reach Bruce Leeroy status and attain The Glow. When you reach that upper level, your mind, body, and soul, will be one. It's a sacrifice. It takes hard work. It's a way of liiiiiiiiiiiife. When you got that gloooow!
My mother still calls me "Lil Boy".
My great cousin Tasha, calls me "Gilligan" (of Gilligan's Island), and now her children addresses me as "Gilligan". Thanks a lot!
Bone Thugs n Harmony = my favorite group of all time. They are without a doubt one of the biggest influences in Hip Hop.
Joe Budden's been the best rapper since 2003. If it means going out my way to let you hear 20-30 of his songs, just to make you believe what I say is true, then so be it.
I would love to see Joli Robinson in some kind of vampire movie. Vampire tv/film girls = the greatest women on earth. Not the super gothic ones, but the Krista Starr-like girls, or Salma Hayek in From Dusk Til Dawn. Good lawd.
I still eat peanut butter sandwiches.
I love soy milk.
I want you to like and love my favorite tv shows/movies.
I don't type this way on AIM. Bad habit.
I wanna be like Landy, when I grow up.
I don't really let my family comment on my Myspace, because some of you people are really nosy/scary/stalkery.
I wish Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 would hurry up and come out.
I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller, I wish I had a Jessica Alba lookalike girl who looked good. I would call her...aldi time.
I've never been outside of this country. Someone plan an out of country vacation with me. Uh..preferrably a female (just wanted to throw that in there).
I never finished school, BUT I IZ NOT A DUMMAY. Especially when dat dere boy put on dem glasses. So yeah..I dropped out of school. Nah, not to be cool. I was sittin' there bored, and thought all y'all were fools.
I miss my cousin Keana, and I miss my grandma. Life hurts.
Oh yes... I love New York! It's Chicago/Illinois to the heart, but I can't wait to go back to NY and Cali..and..just anywhere right now.
I've taught myself 90% of what I know. Some people find it hard to believe, but as I said above, I didn't finish school, so what other explanation could there be?
Last, but not least, Josie confuses the depths of my soul. Lil Stinkysmellgoods. What a brilliant person, she is. She's a genius. An evil one, but a genius, nonetheless.
