About Me

i first realised i was going to be a musician when i was 5 years old bouncing around the living room to my dads elvis records and i would allways picture myself in the band (as the lead guitarist) i begged my parents for a guitar every day for about 2 years when one day... the bought my sister a guitar! i was a little pissed off as you would be, but she quit after a couple of weeks and passed it onto me, it took me a while to get a pleasent sound out of it but i made progress when one of my dads old hippie friends taught me the basics of playing the blues, i spent about a year improvising around the same three chords and the decided to get some lessons, i started learning punk and metal, but my habit of never playing the same thing twice was not appreaciated, none the less i played in numourus punk and metal bands around shrewsbury. i decided to take up music in an academic frame work when i was 18 and a colledge drop out with shit GCSE's i just about held it together for my audition at telford new colledge where i made friends who had been a big influence on me and opend up my mind to genre's such as post-rock, drum and bass and jazz, at the age of 19 i sought out tuition from British jazz guitar virtuoso roy sainsbury who agreed to take me on for an obscene amount of money per lesson but it was worth it for the improvisation and composition techniques he showed me. At the same time my studies were going well and in 2004 i did something i thought i'd never do and enrolled at the university of glamorgan. I decided to start making studio based music because i love playing live so much but i believe to get the most from yourself you have to keep pushing into unfamiliar territory. i think i'm quite a friendly person so if you have any questions about any aspects of my music i'd be glad to answer them! thanx 4 reading!
