I'd like to meet:
i am looking 4 sum1 who can motivate me during physical activity. i aspire 2 B like my 5 heroes, NCAA D-1 wrestling champ Mark Munoz , WKA (kickboxing) featherweight champ Bunkerd Faphimai , San Francisco Giants shortstop Omar Vizquel , computer-guru extraordinaire Ed Reyes , & long-lost BeeGee bandmember TESSIE "GIBB" (she's my lifelong crush!) , but i have a long way 2 go. i'm so out of shape that i have trouble just going up & down my stairs!
seriously doh, if you're somebody that has met me B4 or seen me around (i travel quite extensively, especially 4 sporting events) & U think i might not remember U, go ahead & frend RQ anywayz. just leave a little description (ex. i met U @ Derrick's B-ball game against The Renegades. U kno, Sharlee's older sis. blah, blah, blah) & hopefully pics R up on your profile. i never 4-get a face.
Oh yeah, check out my Bruin Wrestling Hall of Fame below.
It gots peeps from the "Decade of Dominance" (that amazing run of 10 straight league championships!) 2 SPSV's 1st state qualifier in a very long time (2006)! Here's hoping they re-establish that tradition that I had a TEENSY-WEENSY part of. heh-heh!
I'm sure there are more peeps out there (M. Cruz, Gino D., & Joe C. used 2 B on my friends list but they dropped off the face of the Earth!) but this is who I could find 4 now w/out spending the whole afternoon on this boo-stuff. Some day I might start a Vallejo Apache wrestling Hall of Fame, but considering the success that we have had since 1987 (and still sustaining through 2 this current year, especially w/ the girls program taking off in2 the stratosphere!), that might take a whole month & I just don't have that time!
Most of the pangits in my Bruin Wrestling HOF are from odd-numbered teams. 4 sum reason, this is where SPSV had plenty of success individually & collectively as a team. In fact, in ’89, ’93, ’95 & ’97, we placed 3rd in the SJS Div. 3 Team Section Championships (we always ran in2 a tuff TVL team in the semis; either Hughson or Escalon beat us, but not by much!). 1991’s squad got bounced in the quarterfinals even tho they had 1 of the deepest platoons on record. But they were led by 1 lone senior, who was, hands down, the dorkiest dude on campus! So no kudos 4 that team & especially that particular team captain 4 that matter! OK, now back 2 the farm!
The reason Y I put this up is 2 pay homage 2 the guys that dripped their blood, sweat, & tears in that cafeteria we called a practice room. Altho the most growth that I’ve experienced in my coaching career was as an Apache, I have never 4-gotten where I came from. I’m proud of the Bruins that I directed under my tutelage. I just wished all the knowledge I have now, I had back then as a Bruin wrestling coach, if that makes sense. Then mayB, these guys would’ve considered me a success instead of a “yahooligan!†Oh well!
Anyways, click on the profiles 2 learn more about these Bruin superstars! I wanted 2 add Mikey Roxas 2 this list. But he doesn’t belong in a Hall of Shame; he belongs in a Hall of Fame!! After all, he is the wrestler that made the 1992 team forget about me by the time the Pondo duals rolled around. My old teammates said he started hitting sum blast doubles just like me, so Coach Hersch-Dawg started saying, “CARL WHO?!?!†Then again, the guy NEVER pinned ANYBODY (he couldn’t even pin the tail on the donkey 4 that matter!), so yeah, Hall of Shame! Altho he did have more tilts than a friggin’ pinball machine (he holds the school record for most tech falls!), which allowed him 2 place 5th @ 112 lbs. in the 1995 SJS Section tourney! So as a compromise, I put him in my Top 4 next 2 Tom!
2B politically correct, I showed sum luv 2 the Bruin stats under my care as well!
Acronyms (TC = team captain, SQ = state qualifier, JCSP = California junior college state placer, MP = Masters placer, MQ = Masters qualifier) & the year they accomplished it follows. I put their HS weight down b/c they don't want their current weight put on blast like dat!! Since they all know how anal I am, I'll state it now. Yes, erry1 is in graduating, as well as, weight class order! But enuff of this frivolous banter! Enjoy!
Bruin Wrestling Hall of Shame! j/joshing! U kno I'm proud of all U fu-shnickens!

Heroes:
I have 2. One of them is Bethel HS’s Matt Gibson. Matty wrestles 4 my Vallejo PAL All-Star Wrestling squad, so I christened him w/ the moniker “Gibby.†Anyhooters, awhile back he posted that if he places @ the CIF State Championships, then I hafta put him on my heroes board. Well, he took 4th, w/ his only losses in the state tourney coming at the hands of Kyle Bergstedt, the top-ranked kid in the state (Bergstedt ended up losing in his semi & then beating Matty 4 3rd). So Gibby, here U go.
Now my # 1 super-duper hero is KG. No not Kevin Garnett, but Kevin GNAPOOR. Not only is he a stellar Mathlete, but his physique has more cuts & definition than mine! Add 2 the fact that he’s a world-class MC & U have all the qualities that I’m trying 2 emulate. I aspire 2 B just like my hero KG! “Get sum! Get sum!â€
