MyGen Profile GeneratorIt’s not your fault. You didn’t know he was coming. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have opened the door. But it’s too late. Tay Tha Don has walked right into the game and is holding the South hostage with an arsenal of vicious lyrical ammunition aimed pointblank at Billboard’s Top 10.Meet Tay Tha Don, born Donte Benton, 23 years old. Tay has a thick, dominating drawl full of baritone street credibility. His flow hits you in the head and wakes you up just to render you unconscious from the sting of his punch lines and metaphors. The hunger in Tay Tha Don’s voice comes from being raised on the rough streets of Houston’s North side where crime, poverty, and drugs are the norm and succeeding is a rarity. Tay experienced homelessness and poverty first hand. Struggling to even eat day after day, he grew up knowing that he had to find a way to outlive the streets and he vowed to make rap his meal ticket.Tay’s rap career started out on the hardwood floors of Houston, Texas’ Nemitz High School’s basketball court where Tay was a three point specialist until an injury benched him and he picked up the mike to continue his grind. With rap influences such as Jay-Z, Ludacris, and Busta Rhymes, Tay began honing his rap skills by making mixtapes and competing in freestyle battles at local clubs and shows. He became known throughout the North side as one of the top freestyle champions. After being kicked out of his home and struggling to make it on his own at a young age, this was only the beginning of his hustle to make it to the top. Tay now concentrates his efforts on recreating his struggles and experiences in the studio where he is currently working on his debut album, which features some of Houston’s top lyric slingers, such as Lil Flip, Willie D, Lil Keke, and Hawk. He is quickly gaining recognition and showcasing his performance stamina by opening up for such firestarters as Young Jeezy and Birdman.Tay uses his underground habitat as a feeding ground for his relentless marketing campaign and in-your-face delivery. With his notoriety spreading quickly across the map he’s more than ready for a showdown.Next time, do like your mama say and don’t open the door for strangers.
