Example of the Monkey was created and formed from one piece of the remnants of Caged Angel. One guitar player had a dream, a vision, and enough free time to put out a solo album. The dream is very simple ----- a world where we can allow everyone else to live in. We, as a people, tend to hate each other. I know that as you are reading this, you are saying, "Not I". But the truth is that we all have social issues to deal with. Maybe you don't like being too close to Bob because of the color of his skin. Perhaps the sight of those two guys on the street holding hands turns your stomach. Or maybe, you see the two lesbians and wonder which one plays the man. Maybe you go out of your way to avoid the homeless person on the cold streets. We all hate. Some of us hate in small ways, others not so small. The world I want to live in is one where we don't have to prescribe to another's beliefs in order to not be offended by that person. I would like to live in a world where EVERYONE realizes that we're all the same, just as important, just as loving and in need of love. If you only get one thing from the music of Example of the Monkey, get a clearer understanding that we are ALL ONE PEOPLE. To hate another is to hate yourself.
