What the deal is?!? This is ya bwoy saint louis...but my mama named me Shane. You can call me what you want just don't call collect. These bio shots always seem a little self aggrandizing, so for the sake of "keeping it real" I will attempt to do just that. I am an earthling born and raised in the shadows of the panoramic Angeles Forest foothills(Pasadena,CA). Even at an early age it seemed apparent to everybody but myself that I had a "way" with words. What began as a passion for reading, over the years seems to have very naturally developed into a love for communicating ideas, emotions, beliefs, and desires in a myriad of mediums. Now to many this may seem like the most "uncool/unhardcore hip hop fan" thing to say, but my first exposure to hip hop was sitting in my cousin Jacobis' room in San Jose,CA listening to some "new" tapes he had. When he put on the Beastie Boys "Brass Monkey" I was done. I ain't been the same since. The seed that was conceived in my heart that day has grown and matured, and I now know the undeniable truth.. I AM HIP HOP! At first my natural athleticism made it easier for me to express my love and joy for this newfound life through breaking; but man these M.C.s had me open. "L.L. Cool J is hard as...!!!", "The Fat Boys are back and you know we could never be wack!" Man this was all new to me and I was sucking it up like an emaciated infant. While standing in the mirror spitting a Special Ed song with a fervor that would have had him wondering if I'd wrote it, I had an epiphany. "Hey, that didn't sound half bad!" I have been writing ever since. Soon thereafter I was put on a local crew (The Dark Symphony) and tutored in the fine art of freestyling. Later the dross was further removed in the crucible of the dopedest open-mic ever, Pasadenas' own "E-Bar". Here I was introduced to some of the livest M.C.s and crews never-known(atleast yet). As with any living organism, this life called Hip Hop continues to grow in me. All that is in me is expressed through this life giving conduit. My desire and passion is to "make music to live to". To quote myself," till the day I give up the ghost and return to where the dirt is/ My work is disperse this truth off in these verses/ When "the Adversary" would like to write me off as if I was worthless/ my desire gives birth to a passion to fulfill my purpose!!" And it's on like that!!
