About Me

www.nextcat.com/srae (profile with some pics and a link to my website). I first got going with makeup, costumes and stagecraft in junior high, then high school and college. Later I studied with an amazingly talented man named David Starr. His heydey as an artist was the late 70's/early 80's. I learned about face structure and all the subtleties of makeup changing thru the decades with him... He had a lovely salon in downtown San Francisco, down the street from The Face Place-(one of the first BeneFit boutiques before they changed their name to BeneFit).Important things: Sun, sky, hills, art, coffee, perfume, swimming, Donovan and the Ramones on my turntables, photo-shooting, vinyl shopping, dance, finding the best false lashes from the Korean cosmetic shops in Japantown, the open road... The long days of Summer make me gloriously happy. Wintery days that get dark at 5pm really suck. I have a love/hate relationship with San Fran... but there's no better melting pot I've seen in this country yet. Want to see Montreal, perhaps Switzerland. Clif and I have lived in Maryland/DC together and Sacto and Oakland and San Francisco. We had a little art gallery for awhile in the City- it was exciting and Mary Joy made it cool. We're overdue for a major cross country journey to visit pals in CO, AZ, OH, NY, AL, TX, VA and KS Some of Cliffie's work (albeit- very outdated) can be seen at www.TattooCitysf.com...he's amazing and we are partners until we die!

My Interests

Skin, color, texture, debates with Clif about pigments and shades and the psychology of color, collage, anything French (like Nest on Fillmore), singing, live music, travel, monotypes, sun, getting lost in cinema, home improvement projects, staying connected to pals who've moved from here (that's like 90% of my friends), yoga, perfumery, alchemy (not really), East coast work ethics, West coast food, Northern attitude, Southern charm & hospitality, European lifestyles, Highway 1 roadtrips, liquid eyeliner, 80's records, Williamsburg and NYC, collaborative photo shoots with Clif, Seattle and British Columbia, hords of ridiculous glossy fashion mags, Mary Jane shoes, tattoos, headshots, portraits, skate videos & documentaries. KALX in Berkeley, KEXP in Seattle, Cinema Secrets in Burbank, kits on wheels!!...
