I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain. Just kidding, I’m not a big fan of either. I like big cities and untouched nature climbs. I like packed subways and I like long hikes on the beach or in the woods. I like busy crowds where I feel inconspicuous and I like being unique and noticed. I like feeling moved by some one else's artistic creation and I like expressing myself through my own art. I like intellectuals and I like Seinfeld. I like connecting with a dear friend and I like communing with the divine alone in meditation. I like to really dress up and I like to be naked. I like to share a night of long passion with another and I like a quickie with 'Bob.' I like to drive with the music blaring and singing as loud as I can. I like the quiet and I like being still. I like NPR and mindless pop music. I like the sunsets in the high desert and sunrises at Point Reyes. I like San Francisco and I like the Shenandoah Valley. My heart has known the the sweetest bliss on par with the deepest of sorrow. I have been a renunciant and a hedonist. I now dwell somewhere in the middle and strive for balance and peace.I like that I haven’t figured it all out yet.

Fanning The Flames of Gratitude

What would you do if your life went up/down in flames?I often feel like that is just what my life does, but I speak metamorphically. In fact, quite recently, emotionally, my life felt like an elevat...

Lights Out; In Memory Of Bill Wood

Little Arthur furiously peddled his ten speed Huffy bicycle up Zinfandel Drive in order to get home before the street lights came on.  It was a typically hot Sacramento summer day.  The swea...

A Tale From My Sordid Youth

There is no need for anyone to make a fool of me.  I do a fine job all by myself.  It was 1988, and I lived in one of the greatest cities on our planet - San Francisco. I thought I was so cool.  I was...

This Too Shall Pass

The Darkness, It ebbs and flows, a constant in my life.   I suppose it does for us all; For who does not intimately know strife?   Soon I will be another year old. And, once again, I note,...

Walking in the Light

It was that magical time of the day I call twighlight.  A soft gentle glow enveloped the country side transforming the pastures into "sfmuato" an Italian style of painting which transforms perc...

A French "Fix."

The bruise on my nose is fading.  I bonked my nose so many times while entering and exiting French doors that I lost count.    It is no secret that in general, the French do not embrac...
