Spaio & Sleazy Tek are two producers/DJs from Athens, Greece. They have been involved in music production and DJing since 1999 and started playing professionally in venues all over Greece since 2002. Both have studied music theory and piano since childhood. Later they attended a course in music production and sound engineering. Sleazy Tek (Christos Papazachariou) has a 9-year long classic and jazz piano learning experience and mild knowledge of guitar. He also has a degree in classic European theory and harmony along with a 3 years course in Byzantine and eastern music theory. Currently being a student in Computer Systems Engineering department of technological institute Piraeus, Athens, he has mastered sound electronics and analog synthesizer design. Spaio (Basil Papageorgiou) is a self-taught pianist and has studied classic European music theory and jazz harmony. Experimenting with synthesizers since 12 years old, he easily found his way to professional music production. They started DJing in high-school playing house music in parties. Since then, they held residencies in numerous clubs/bars all over Greece and played in several underground parties. Due to their classical music background their influences derive from classic music composers, but their love for house music and the early 90’s rave scene had a great impact on them and their music as well. Their DJing style varies from tech-house and electro to progressive house. They are warmly supported by world-class DJ’s like Christian Cambas (88 in DJ mag poll 2005),Timo Garcia, Ricky Stone among others. Their first release Red Sand has been supported from djs all over the world and also featured on the cover-cd of DJ MAG December 2007.
