This band features a trio including brothers Manny & Ronnie Sanchez and partner Sarven Manguiat playing funk to fusion, rock-jam & jazz. GrooveSession were winners in the best jazz category from the 2007 Inland Empire Music Awards but you wonâ€™t hear straight ahead in any set this group performs. Dynamics and variety with a hard hitting funky bottom end and guitar that cuts through with passion and precision. The group has opened for Greg Adams, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band @ The Troubadour, Tea Leaf Green, Jeff Pevar, The Radiators, Stanton Moore and Susie Hansens Latin Jazz Band just to name a few. The group just finished up their first full length studio recorded album "The Flying Burrito" due out in mid 2008. Sounds Like: WHAT IS A FLYING BURRITO? Well, the flying burrito is a spaceship powered by all types of music. An album. It is the cruiser that carries Captain Dedaboo and the Grooveanaut elite. Captain Dedaboo is an elder from the planet Benson who has been retained to assemble a group of fellow groovers to search and destroy Qtron and his army. The Flying Burrito is his ship equipped with only the finest, boldest grooveanauts he could locate still unaffected by the mini vamping machine and born to perform as the Grooveanaut elite. They leave Benson with all the proper tools and necessities to find and eliminate Dr. Qtron, The Wrath of Uulga and the mini vamping machine. You can say they have a little bit of everything in the burrito. Funk, groove, passion, hope, rock and rhythm but especially love. It will take everything to fight the machine and its power over the masses. Take the quest as fellow Grooveanauts, embrace the characters as you see them and allow yourself to get away for a time while you walk barefoot through the music. Settle todays journey listening to tomorrows answers. Now, lets say we're not talking about a flying spaceship- burrito anymore. Only the music.
GrooveSession truly believes in making quality music from their inner most beliefs, for the soul and thinking man's mind. They interperet from everything they ever heard and learned in life. Music masters from Blues, Jazz, Funk, Rock, and Reggae, with the root of improvisation at the core. So it is all this wonderfully and tasty musical ingredients compiled into one nice flour tortilla, but made from the heart for everyone to enjoy at least a little bit... (=
