Tony Pax and Monith were schoolmates in high school and performed
together in various bands in the late 90's. Although writing material
came easy, the guys struggled to find a drummer who could stay sober
as well as a voice powerful enough to carry the tunes. The stars were
aligned the very next day after one relatively successful project
disbanded, when the guys met a vocalist David Kerry, fresh off the
boat from Ireland, waiting tables at the local watering hole.
David Kerry was born in Ireland and was the lead singer of many bands there in the 90's. Dave realized that he had to make a change in order to realize "The Dream", which natually brought him to the USA in 1999. Soon thereafter, he joined Sarangati, as a backup singer in the R&B band led by Sharon Gitau, of MTV's The Real World London. After Sarangati disbanded, Dave met Tony and Monith and formed Moonspank.
Since then, Moonspank has played over 150 gigs and has toured the United States 3 times. They have recently acquired Darren Lipper on bass which has completely revamped and recharged Moonspank's already edgy sound.
Moonspank is currently working on the release of their 2nd full-length album, which they hope to have out by early August '08.
