About Me

"There's always danger of sounding inhuman. You're not obligated to take a breath before you do something. Wind players are obliged to be human, they have periods, question marks, phrases. But there's always the danger, with people who play piano, percussion, or string intruments, of not creating phrases that speak out to people."-Max Roach Modern Drummer 1979 / I have been playing the drum set since the age of 13. I got started playing drum set in the church band it eventually led me to join a rock band. I spent many years playing rock and funk before ever attempting jazz. It was my first long term drum teacher (Jim Wall), that started to get acquainted with jazz. / After high school I joined the Jazz Studies program at Tri-c (2006). It was at this point that I really started to play and understand jazz. Once I got a taste of how expressive jazz is, I never looked back. Jazz music has been my favorite outlet for my creativity and emotion ever since. / I have had the priveledge of studying with such Cleveland greats as Jackie Warren, Ernie Krivda, Joe Hunter, Steve Enos, Tony Pullizi, Dave Sterner, Bob Mckee, Ray Porrello, and am currently studying with world renown Jamey Haddad.Brush Solo
