Something about myself? Who wants to know? And why?!? ;)I'm a bit of a dichotomy.. There's a part of me that loves going out.. Seeing new faces & visiting new places.. Then, there's a part of me that's a bit reclusive--favoring the company of good reading material & music to that of another sentient being (other than my cat, of course!). Often needing to disconnect from the world in order re-charge my batteries, meditate & re-focus my energies. I'm usually very outgoing but, do sometimes experience moments of inexplicable shyness--which has (unfortunately) been misunderstood as being cold and aloof. I'm outspoken & honest, but not intentionally hurtful..Unless you damn well deserve it! I don't follow fashion. I crave certain creature comforts, but I'm not materialistic. I'm a bookworm who loves Science, History & Literature..full of obscure facts & strange tidbits. I don't like to describe myself as 'spiritual' as some people do, because I believe that we are all spirits (first and foremost). Having been created in the spiritual realm before being born onto this earthly plane. That is to say, that I am a spirit on a 'human' journey (for the time being). There's a tremendously sensitive side to my personality that is tender & extremely vulnerable, that I tend to keep hidden pretty well from people that aren't close to me (in order to avoid inviting trouble) & because of this sensitivity, I'm very intuitive and also very much affected by the emotions of others. Experiences beginning as early as childhood had led to my initial fascination & ongoing intrigue with studying paranormal & parapsychology (all things metaphysical) in part because there were too many uncanny 'coincidences' & things that I was able to discern without direct knowledge. I have very strong political views (time for a revolution!) and I'm unwavering in my convictions, but never too advanced in my own thinking to listen to another's point of view. I strive to keep my life as drama-free as possible and avoid psychic/emotional vampires like the plague. I'm big on respect & believe it's something to be earned and not given freely--although, I am very considerate. I'm also very generous & kind-hearted, but DON'T MISTAKE the kindness for weakness!!! I have more compassion for animals than for most people. I'm not a Buddhist, but my eastern astrological sign is that of a (Metal) Dog & it seems to have me pegged. I've managed to achieve a lot at a very young age & then had the misfortune of losing it all..All the while with a, "Never Say Die!" attitude. I'm not comfortable exploiting past achievements & I'm currently exploring a new path.. Also, not too enthusiastic about superficial introductions such as these, but I'm a relatively open person, so if there's something you want to know..just ask.
