About Me

Aloha my name is Dagan aka deegan, deegans, diggins, doogie, kawika, and johnnnie, I was born in the first capital of the United States and am now living in a small ranching community on the Island of Hawai'i. At the age of four my family moved to an avocado farm near Honaunau in the South Kona district. There, without TV and modern appliances, I grew up around "old Hawai'i." Many days were spent at Kealakekua Bay, swimming in the ocean, watching the old men fish or listening to da aunties "talk story." This way I started to become a part of this beautiful place and I am ever grrateful to ke akua for all those oppurtunities... and if it wasn't for that brave Hawaiian man who ran into the surf at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau and rescued me from certain death when I was caught on the reef in 15 foot surf, I wouldn't even be here today...so now, I make music and share it with the world... you can currently find me deep in the tahitian lime orchard or jammin uke with the Uncle Smitty Ohana. Come, listen, enjoy. Hoi Hou, Kai Nalu, Ho'o Mau!
