About Me

Read / subscribe to my blog . It fascinates.
I've been playing guitar and producing records since I got my start in the clubs of Boston. It didn't take me long to leave the fold of ego-driven guitarists and cultivate the view that the guitar is just a part of the big picture, not some phallic stand-in or a hammer of the gods. If a song calls for it, I'll play just three notes during the second verse, or I'll lay down 12 tracks of texture that may or may not sound like a guitar. It's about music first, the instrument second. On the other hand, you don't have to twist my arm very forcefully to get me to play 'Don't Stop Believing' note for note.
As a producer/engineer, I'm enjoying working on a variety of projects, from full albums to one-off tracks, to producing intimate string quartet sessions.
I am currently working on a new Paula Kelley Orchestra album (playing and co-producing) and am also in the midst of promoting Matt Nathanson's Some Mad Hope, having just finished another extensive U.S. tour, this time opening for Lifehouse. More dates to follow.
I'm always looking for new bands and artists to work with, so drop me a line!

Guitarist

I've been making guitar noises for many years and - despite growing up in the shadow of Metal - I've always been about one thing: finding the right part to fit in the right spot. Yeah, I can bash out...

Producer

Yeah, so I've produced (and co-produced) a bunch of indie records. Why should you care? Because indie records are great records, records that reflect a genuine artistic urge, and records where the a...
