Mz. Shottie was introduced to the rap game in 1997. A writer with unique voice, she was approached to do hooks on various artists' tracks. She moved to Baton Rouge in 1998, leaving her New Orleans home searching for a new scene. She joined a group named "The Made Ones" and began performing in talent shows and clubs in the local area. The Made Ones began working for 4 Down Entertainment south of Baton Rouge (shouts out to Lil Boosie and Savage Life). Doing shows, getting expose lead the group to a label based out of Los Angeles called "In 2 Deep Records" that also signed fellow local artists Lokee and Mr. Wicked.
"We were putting in a lot of work traveling back and forth from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Los Angeles," says Mz. Shottie. After various disagreements within the group, The Made Ones seperated and the opportunity for Mz. Shottie to work with Mystikal and Big Truck Records came into play.
Since then, her journey in the industry and life grew quickly. In 2003, Big Truck Records came to a hault before it was even properly launched when the game temporarily lost the best entertainer there is - Mystikal. Through all the chaos and distress, her love for the game gave her opportunities to work with some of the most talented artist out of New Orleans. In 2005, months before Katrina, Ms.Tee, Cheeky Blakk, Dejavu, and Alize (wuzz up) came together to create "Queens of the South", a project consisting of strong females artists with various talents and styles.
