Ladyfest Cork is a community based, not-for-profit event. It is intended to celebrate and encourage the talents of women of all ages, colour, creed, background and sexuality, while highlighting the inequalities that still exist in today’s world.
The core organisers of Ladyfest are women, but everyone is encouraged to attend and volunteer. Our aim is to create a positive, all-inclusive forum for discussion, performance and celebration!
As part of the festival next April we want to host a visual arts exhibition. The aim of the exhibition is to provide a space for female artists who may be currently underrepresented.
In addition to the exhibition, we would like to facilitate a collaborative art project as a means to encourage the public to actively get involved and leave their creative imprint in some way.
We hope to hold the exhibition from the 18th to the 28th of April 2008
