OUTBURST is Northern Ireland's first dedicated queer arts festival, with a programme of theatre, music, visual art, film, comedy and words happening Belfast from Nov. 22nd to Dec. 1st.
It's all a bit exciting really. I have to sit down now.
The festival includes performances from acclaimed international queer artists as well as having a strong focus on community talent and nurturing local creativity. The idea behind the festival is to give queer people here a space to explore issues of identity through engaging in the arts and to create ongoing platforms for performance, debate and creative goodness in Northern Ireland.
And kissing. We really encourage artistic kissing. In a creative way.
OUTBURST has been two years in the making, the idea originating from a small group of people in Belfast who wanted to develop a platform for queer performance and exploration of queer identity beyond the commercial and mainstream lesbian and gay scenes. And now it's happening!! We are a small volunteer led festival and would love your support so check back for our full programme of events soon!
