Aproximately one year ago joseph bataglia(guitar) proposed the idea of starting a ska or punk band to aaron buede(trombone.) A couple of weeks later they had the loose lineup of jon wicks on drums, michael gardner and joey on guitar, and aaron on bass. After one uneventfull practice they all decided that this was a dumb idea and moved on with their lives. a few months later around the begining of the fall semester aaron and joey decided to make a second attempt, this time with a stronger and more experienced lineup. The lineup consisted of jon wicks on drums (again) michael vandam on trumpet, aaron on trombone, joey on guitar, danni torez on bass, and shane nelms as a vocalist. This version of the band had about two decent practices which produced the song "homecoming," but then agreed that around this time of year half of them were to busy to make very many of the practices so everyone decided that it would be best to take a two month break until they could free up their schedules. After this lengthy recesion they all came together on november 6th, 2007, this time with the replcement of jon wicks with ethan fiorelli on drums, and the addition of daniel gardner on alto saxaphone. They began to have consistant practices and wrote the song "home is where the box is" without the help of michael vandam, who hadn't been to any of the third lineups practices. They later decided to annex michael from the band because he was still to busy to practice. After about two months of hard work and a basist change from danni to justin madden, the band now known as The Candy Bandits got a show at the mad hatter. This event coincided with the unfortunate happenings of ethan fiorelli, who was charged with possesion and was soon after expelled from school. Due to this the band now needed a fill-in drummer, and michael selmeyer was the perfect percusionist for the job. Wearing the fabled banana suit to the mad hatter show he played exceptionaly well, so shortly after The Candy Bandits decided with heavy hearts to replace ethan with michael, forming the final lineup. In the following months the band wrote songs, practiced hard, changed their name from The Candy Bandits to Suburban Skank, changed vocalist (from Shane to Jesse)and got more shows, while at the same time making a network of freinds in other bands such as secondhand sex and chris and the dickens. To this day they are writng more songs and playing shows while they continue in the common, yet neverending struggle for good recordings, bigger gigs, exposure, and most of all good musicality.
