'Tis a treacherous age in the world we live today. The beautiful, limitless expressive art known as music is being devoured by horrible creatures who call themselves musicians. These beings pervert and distort the youth in countless ways. Something should be done. Someone needs to come to the rescue. Someone needs to be UN-emo. We know what you want, we know what you need. You have found what you have been longing for. You want Chris and the Dickens.
Chris and The Dickens formed in late 2004 with members Korey Searingen, Chris Breeze and Brock O'Cull as a punk side-project while Korey and Brock were in Lost in Foxport. Alex McGlone was added as a bassist soon afterward. They recorded their first CD "Alex is on Fire" in Brock's basement in 2005 with some help from Chris Butler. They played several Broken Bridge Brigade shows with many bands including Before The Predicate, Camp Lo Echo, Bedtime, Neutral Agreement, and The Apprentice. Early 2006, Ryan Grooms joined as a second guitarist and in February they recorded "Panic! at the Polka Party" at 2 Cat Studios in Ashland, Kentucky with producer Gary Kesling (The Return, Split Nixon, Green Light, Bedtime, The Genuine Junk Band... www.2catstudios.com). The Dickens have been playing shows in support of the album since.
