About Me

I'm a wife to my best friend, Dan; mommy to my strong and smart 4 year old, Ethan; and my smiley, independent 15 month old boy, Isaac. I'm a dreamer and a pessimist...a transformed survivor of an eating disorder; I love any form of the Performing and Visual Arts--and the occasional Acid 4.0 triP :-) You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !

My Interests

Poetic expression; the Dramatic Arts inside/outside the Church (things are going to change...) Giving others a different view of who Jesus is. Telling people about who I am because of Him. I love gardens, old places with history, old people with stories to tell, hearts that need to be free, crisp sheets on the bed, holidays, candles, impromtu get togethers, really hot coffee, free worship and prayer without a clock in sight, giving my sons baths and reading them stories, holding my husband, sitting on my porch swing with a good book and/or a good friend. Learning to love my husband, sons, and people more than myself. Loving God more than all of the above!

I'd like to meet:

Victor Hugo, Stanley Kubrick, Marlon Brando, T.S. Eliot, Mae West, Jim Henson, Katherine Hepburn, Mark Twain, Queen Elizabeth (first one)

Music:

Well, when you share an i-pod with Dan holding over 3,000 songs, you kind of get a taste for any and everything when you're in a particular mood. One word: S-H-U-F-F-L-E :-)

Movies:

The Last of the Mohicans; Sweet Land; The Village; Drop Dead Gorgeous; Life Is Beautiful; My House In Umbria; Hairspray; Shopgirl; Bella

Television:

Anything on TLC or HGTV

Books:

The Bible--the greatest love story/letter to me and the world. Ted Dekker novels (thanks to Sarah T. :-) Dr. Dan Allander-"How Children Raise Parents" (this has revolutionized the way I've seen becoming a parent!!!) Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard

Heroes:

Anyone who has let go of a tragic past and let new life come in...

My Blog

Smooth Criminal

After book study this morning, I decided to swing by Target to buy some birthday cards for some family members who are celebrating their birthday later this afternoon.  I called Dan on my cell:&n...

The Rain and The Reign

The sun never came out this morning.  Isaac went down for his morning nap so easily, I have to attribute it partly to this dreary weather.  It’s easy to want to curl up under a blanket...

Hello, welcome to the White House, can I take your order?

I guess I'm just needed to express some frustration with the world...aka...politics.  I'm the type of person who won't watch the news because frankly, I want to hurl a large breakable item at the...

There will be summer

It is too cold to feel my toes, even with my grey wool socks on.  And, I never wear socks.  I wiggle them to get a rush of blood downward. Dan and Ethan are out and about...Isaac i...

The human lot

I have reached the pinnacle of laziness.  The deep of winter makes me feel like I'm moving through mud.  I fight against the urge to plop on the couch each second I have free and do nothing....

Is there a doctor in the house?

I watch old movies and see doctors making house calls.  I laugh. Hard.  It's difficult to imagine a doctor making a trip to my house these days.  It's almost impossible to get through ...

Small hours

Weekends are cherished.  For some reason, I don't mind getting up on Saturday the same time I get up every other day.  I don't mind because I know I will be with my husband and my sons as a ...

Trucking

Isaac is really trucking now.  After discovering he can indeed, move on his own two feet, there is no stopping him.  I find myself standing in the corner of a room, watching him, in a sense ...

*sigh*....okay

I feel like an idiot.  But, nothing is really my fault.  I'll be brief. Dad called me last night to say that Beanie is still with us.  He is, in fact, after all the blood work was done ...
