About Me

In times of tragedy, few things speed the healing process quite like music. American music owes it's entire being to the Mississippi delta and New Orleans. Blues and Jazz were born there out of racism and slavery, poverty and struggle, hope and dispair. All of modern music is descended from Blues and Jazz. Now that part of our country's history has been ravaged by Katrina, and I feel a sense of duty to repay the gift given to me by the delta and the Big Easy. My song, "Mississippi", is a tribute to the people and music that inspired me to be a musician. Music that literally saved my life. I am donating profits from the sale of this song which has been released on the album "Welcome To Your Life" by Sweet Brother Rush to the American Red Cross relief fund. I came here with a dream of being the lead singer of a great rock and roll band and to have my music heard by the world. After many years of blood, sweat, and tears, successes and disappointments, struggle, and heartache, I have that dream in my possession. My band Citizens Of Contrary Knowledge is the manifestation of that dream and the culmination of all those years of believing and persevering. I invite you to our website at www.citizensofcontraryknowledge.com to listen to our music and hear our story.

My Interests

music, sports, travel, good food, meeting people, reading, political debate, social issues, writing, parties, making love

I'd like to meet:

Intelligent, fun-loving, music lovers who have a social conscience. People who are dissatisfied with the status quo and understand the power that we all possess to change what is wrong with our world. I want to meet people who admire John Lennon, Martin Luther King, Bono and Bob Geldoff; people who want to end war, starvation, genocide, slavery, and the greed that feeds these things in our modern world. I want to meet people who understand that the truth is always a matter of perspective and never found in one source. I want to meet people with open minds and hearts who think for themselves, listen to all styles of music, and desire to suck the marrow from this brief time we spend in what we call reality.

Music:

Favorites include Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Jeff Buckley, U2, Radiohead, Prince, old Michael Jackson, Led Zepplin, Chris Cornell, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Tower Of Power. I love Motown and Soul, 70's Rock and Funk, Classical Music, Sinatra, and Modern Rock. My love of rap sort of ended with Grand Master Flash and The Sugar Hill Gang, but I give everything a fair shot.
