I am here for Friends

About Me

I’m a student, working on duel Psychology and French Studies majors. Even though it's difficult at times, I'm doing what I want to do for once. I don't care if I live in a cardboard box, so long as I can just live, laugh, and love.
I love to laugh, sing in the shower, traveling, learning new languages, gardening, canning things with my mom, watching power rangers with my little brother, puddle jumping, my church, music, jumping into pools with my clothes on, skinny dipping with friends, dancing in the rain, long walks, going to the beach and wondering why I didn't wear a better jacket, spending holidays with my family, long talks with my dad, joking around, sparkling cider, soft chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven, arguing about music, playing my flute (and I am even starting to like the piccolo), and trying to make other people laugh. I can't be defined in this tiny space, so I am not even going to try it.

My Interests

living life to the fullest, sleeping, finding happiness and contentment, and learning every day. i love to have fun in everything i do.

I'd like to meet:

Kurt Vonnegut, Eugène Ionesco, Albert Camus, and many, many other authors. Too many to list here. Oh, and Rivers Cuomo and the rest of Weezer, David Bowie, and AIH.

Music:

Music is a huge part of my life. Anything with solid music and lyrics is worth listening to, but I am not a huge fan of country.
My favorite bands are Weezer and Architecture in Helsinki, and I greatly enjoy: Ace of Base, David Bowie, the Pet Shop Boys, Arashi, Hyde, Miyavi, Killers, Finch, Shout out Louds, Fondly, Rob Dougan, Clash, Faint, Fray, Strokes, Green Day, Queen, Hawthorne Heights, Decemberists, Cake, Dashboard, Arcade Fire, Death Cab, Wolf Parade, Echo and the Bunnymen, U2, Eve 6, Caves, Cornelius, Bauhaus, Saves the Day, Black Eyed Peas, Taking Back Sunday, Used, Kings of Convenience, Depeche Mode, Interpol, Flaming Lips, Violent Femmes, Dandy Warhols, Bloc Party, Nine Inch Nails, Rentals, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, Postal Service, Darkness, Thursday, Three Years Down, Academy Is, Interpreters, The Beatles, Smiths, Rolling Stones, Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, Fiona Apple, Yellowcard, Bright Eyes, All-American Rejects, and so much more music it’s hard to list them all. I also love the classic stuff: Sinatra, the Rat Pack, Bing Crosby, Ray Charles, the Andrews Sisters, classic swing, jazz, and loads of other musicians.

Movies:

Better Off Dead, Match Point, Life is Beautiful, Say Anything, Top Gun, the Indiana Jones movies, Anchorman, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, pretty much every James Bond movie (except the ones with Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby. I pretend those movies were never made).

Television:

The Office, Arrested Development, Japanese dramas, Family Guy, Saturday Night Live, occasionally...and with one of my roommates...ANTM. I am ashamed to admit that.

Books:

Le Jardin

Des milliers et des milliers d'années
Ne sauraient suffire
Pour dire
La petite seconde d'éternité
Où tu m'as embrassé
Où je t'ai embrassé
Un moment dans la lumière de l'hiver
Au Parc Montsouris à Paris
À Paris
Sur la terre
La terre qui est un astre.

-Jacques Prevert

and for those of you who can't speak french...

Millions and millions of years
Will never suffice
To tell of
The sweet moment of eternity
Where you kissed me
And I kissed you
One moment in the light of winter
In the Montsouris Park in Paris
In Paris
Upon this earth
This earth which is a star.

Heroes:

My grandfather, my dad, and my older brother. If you know them, you probably know why.
