About Me

The 2640 Jazz Brunch is a public event organized by the 2640 and Red Emma's collectives about once a month. It takes place at the 2640 events space in the beautiful and historic Clark Room of St. John's Methodist Church in Charles Village. It's a vegetarian and vegan-friendly all-you-wanna-eat buffet brunch... it's a jam session open to all musicians... it's a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Not limited to jazz standards, we love to jam out on funk & blues, back up poets and spoken word artists, and showcase all kinds of improvisational music. Join us for our next brunch and bring your friends & family, bring your axe, bring your appetite!

Influences: Jazz standards, blues & funk jams, improvisational collaborations with beatboxers, spoken word artists, instrumentalists and vocalists of all stripes... we love to experiment with unusual talent combinations. Our open mic features poets, songwriters, solo instrumentalists, announcements about community events & activism, and usually at least one accordion. =]
