Details is a revolutionary writer of our generation but unlike many radicals of our time his intention is not set only on rebellion- his feet are solidly on the ground, his three eyes are wide open, and his music incorporates the only two things that have ever made a real difference- love and action. The music of Details is Details. The words, notes, and style all pulsate with who Details is, so to describe the music we must look to the artist himself. Details is human. He is a voice for his listeners, leaving many, including myself, thinking, Ive always wanted to say that but have never known how. Your problems and issues become his problems and issues and by listening to the music of Details you find yourself feeling as if his songs were your own journal entries, your own frustrations and simple celebrations. Details is honest and as a result his music is powerfully vulnerable, he will not hesitate to put himself out on a limb to further his own growth and the growth of his listeners. Like many of the rappers out there that listen to more John Lennon then Krs-One, Details is a ranger or scout of the hip-hop genre. He spends his days testing the boundaries of the hip-hop genre, running out in front of the crowd and returning with news of ways to expand the culture while remaining firmly rooted in the DNA of mother hip-hop.And hip-hop is where his roots lie. He is a capital M-C! As for many emcees, hip-hop was a doorway- for Details that doorway led to spirituality, expression, and a renewed sense of self. Details was raised on the same hip-hop any self-respecting emcee is raised on but it was the combination of others music, his own individuality, and an attentive ear to the world around him that produced who we know as Details. As a result, the music of Details is organic, honest, and addictive. From spoken word, to folk rants over guitar riffs, to fully produced hip-hop symphonies- honesty is the common thread that runs through his music, through his chakras, and through his listeners.A humble Detail in the larger scheme of things, but like a pebble in ones shoe- he stops people in their tracks.
