Music:

Good rhythmic sounds.
Good melody.
Not preachy.
The rest really doesn't matter.

Movies:

Depending on how many tourists are on the ticket line. Mood is a big factor.

Television:

Buzz off the reality shows...
Talk about your "Supa Stah Complex". Just like this part of the space...(silent to insect noises)

I use the tube for background noise & video games!
...and a little Discovery from time to time...

Books:

It all comes down to the story and it's cover. Yes I judge book by it's cover!!! ...and I'm sure you do too!!!
