About Me

Bio:
One could say that the original blueprint for The Counter Clockwise was laid out in 2003, when best friends of 13 years, Anthony Bianco, who sings and plays all manner of piano-synth-organ-accordion or any other keyboardesque instrument, and Harley Jones, who provides expertly delivered vocals and drips with attitude, began writing and recording the intial demos of certain songs that would end up being current Counter Clockwise staples. At the time the songs ended up eventually being shelved as the boys were simply too busy to pursue music as a duo.
Fast Forward to 2004...
Mostly on a humorous whim, Anthony and another founding member of The Counter Clockwise, Gina Chambrone, began writing & recording new songs under the alias of "The Hong Kong Mafia". The songs were lo-fi, electro goodies with very little structure and a whole lot of tongue in cheek. However the two decided that they really felt like actually pursuing the music further and (after bringing harley in to form the core three) the group combined the songs from both the 2003 sessions and the 2004 sessions, to create the first demo, aptly titled "This Is The Demo Bitch!" under the " The Hong Kong Mafia" name. However, it was decided that an actual drummer (as the group was only working with programmed drums at the time) would offer a heavier dimension to the sound and so Anthony's good friend and on-again off-again musical collaborator, Dan Wameling, was brought in to supply some serious kick to the songs with his live drumming. Thus, The Counter Clockwise was born.
And it almost seemed that this birth was still-born for after a significant down time, and before a show was even played, late in 2004 it was decided that the band would probably not continue onward as time restraints and availability strapped them all. It wasn't until early in 2005 when the offer to play "ART THAT ROCKS" a local art show showcasing area talent was extended to the band and as a result of the acceptance to play it, a new member was added to the band. Kevin Curtis was brought in to add even more of a soulful delivery to the already interesting vocal work of the band and after a month of intense rehearsals, where all the songs went through one final metamorphosis, The Counter Clockwise's first show was played to an overwhelmingly warm reception. It figures the foul mouthed scribblings and electro gyrations of this rag tag group of friends would go over so well in the basement of a church.
Sadly, some time after this show founding member Gina Chambrone, set off to pursue her career as an ultra crunk queen of the universe and left the guys wondering "what next?". Gina brought such a powerful element to the group, as well as being such a good friend. The boys were left to carry the torch, and did through the summer of 2005, wich included thier second live show at The Resonance Center, and recording several more tracks in the fall.
Following a considerable amount of down time, the band has been resurrected. Gina has returned to the fold and the band is working on putting together a retrospective of thier demos and recorded work, in hopes of sharing this compilation with thier friends and fans. Stay tuned!
