Kevin Jones - Composer

Hi, my name is Kevin and I'm a composer... 'hi kevin...'I am a graduate from the College of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. I graduated with a Bachelors in Music Composition. Having written for several different ensembles and solo instruments, my knowledge of timbre, grouping, and orchestration has greatly benefited from my time at SFASU. I have experience writing from film as well as most classical forms and ensembles. Films I have written for include; "Within Us," a film by Derek Johnson, and "Skipping Tomorrow," a film by Rob Senska. ____________________________________________________________ _"Within Us" features suspenseful music with a sense of longing. The music for this film was scored for mostly strings, brass, and percussion. "Skipping Tomorrow" features music that is in the pop genre as well as a few cues needing an orchestral feel. This movie allowed my creativity to shine from my experience in rock band settings. Using mostly sampled sounds and synthesizers, the music of "Skipping Tomorrow" connects with a contemporary sound that a younger audience may be able to relate with better. ____________________________________________________________ _In the future I am planning to continue my career composing. I would like to pursue this through a form of media.(i.e. - film, television, video games, singer/songwriter, etc.) I also have interest in continuing my education by way of sound engineering, music production, or other facets of the music industry...
