AMELIE and ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF A SPOTLESS MIND are my two favorite films. Well... there is also BATMAN too. Confidential, Platoon, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Shining, The Usual Suspects, UHF, Beetlejuice, Pulp Fiction, Awakenings, Psycho, First Blood, 28 Days Later, King Kong, Re-Animator, Citizen Kane, Alien, Aliens, John Carpenter's The Thing, Apocalypse Now, Requiem For A Dream, Taxi Driver and many others...I'm devlishly obsessed with classic Horror and Sci Fi such as Creature From The Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein, Dracula, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, The Thing From Outer Space, The Fly, The Last Man On Earth etc...I also am pretty into contemporary Horror as well.
Books:
CATCH 22 is probably my favorite novel of all time. Other books I love are A Clockwork Orange, Dracula, The Giver, And Then There Were None, I Am Legend, Dante's Inferno, Frankenstein, The Little Prince, Of Mice And Men, Bruce Campbell's If Chins Could Kill: Confessions Of A B-Movie Actor etc... Lately I've been reading H.P. Lovecraft stories and A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Both of which are clearly great. I must also make note that Edgar Allan Poe was a huge influence on me and I cherish his works.
I am HEAVILY into graphic novels. My favorite writers are (as should everybody's be) Frank Miller, Alan Moore and Garth Ennis. My favorite books of the genre are WATCHMEN, Sin City, V For Vendetta, the entire PREACHER series, Batman: HUSH, Batman: The Long Halloween, MAUS, the Garth Ennis' Punisher MAX series, the I Am Legend adaptation by Steven Niles, Ronin, Hardboiled, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Spiderman: Kraven's Last Hunt, Fury, 100 Bullets, Marvels, Spiderman: Carnage, Road To Perdition, Batman: The Killing Joke etc...
