Born on a day in the leap year (1976) of hip hop’s birth, the BX-born kid along with his childhood friend Red Handed, started experimenting with rapping and turntablism at the age of 10. Growing up in the mecca of hip hop, Los Da Prez loves to reminisce on his days as a New York shorty.“Growing up in that era where you could go to the park and see Erik B. & Rakim, Slick Rick, KRS-One and Fat Joe, was one of the greatest expriences of my life. I remember sneaking with Red Handed in the Castle to see Kid Capri LIVE,†reminisces the rap connoisseur who recalls when legendary DJ’s like Premiere and Kid Capri would stop through his friend’s mini-studio in his bedroom to show and prove. Los’ hard work only accelerated when the genre that embraced him suddenly disheartened him. “"Hip Hop broke my heart in 1989, we formed a rap group, worked hard day and night hoping to one day land a record deal. Only to see two kids come to our neighborhood from two complete different cites, rep N.Y., and got a major record deal; right in front of my eyes. At the time, I did not respect hip-hop because of it. I just felt we was better than them. But I was young and naive then, because they wound up being pioneers in hip hop." That pioneering rap group was Gangstarr. On the rebound from his disappointment, he started to pay more attention to his second love, basketball. Not until he relocated to Allentown, Pennsylvania did Los Da Prez reunite with hip hop. He would then start back dj’ing and soon created Battlefield Entertainment, his music marketing, managing, distribution & booking entertainment company. Battlefield Entertainment would soon be known as the very first company to bring a rap concert to Crocodile Rock Café, a predominantly rock ‘n roll venue. That concert would include a performance from Jim Jones; the show was a sell-out with 1300 attendees. While bringing more artists to Allentown including Styles P, Remy Ma, Capone & N.O.R.E. and others, Los Da Prez (in 2005) became an on-air personality for 91.3 FM W.L.V.R. His latest accomplishments include becoming the President of yet another company, Riot Town Entertainment, becoming the official DJ for R&B recording artist Tony Sunshine, and Sneakervilla.
