The first EP to be taken from 'Get Fakt 01 Mixed by Black Russian' comes in the form of a triple whammy selection featuring not one, not two but three dance floor killers from Fakt artists of the phuture!
Heading up the charge is the mysterious super producer Black Russian, a man who's been with the label since year dot and made a splash with his first ever house production Ringshifter alongside Catz 12 months ago and hasn't looked back. Opening the door to world of house music from the wrong side of midnight, 'Don't Use' sees the our friend from the East deliver a no-nonsense dance floor weapon tried and tested on dance floors this summer by the Fakt DJ team.
'Turbowolf' sees the Russian join forces with industry star Tom Real, winner of the Breakspoll 2007 Award for Best Remixer (alongside production partner Rogue Element). With releases for Functional and Passenger Records and remixes across many more, those who've caught Tom DJing will know his sets have always featured more four to the floor material than ever and he with Black Russian launch the first of many high tech music collaborations.
Finally rounding up the package, the Black Russian joins original Fakt partners Catz on 'Faxing Shoreditch' a twisted minimal house cut that will see the Catz further their mission to become the top dogs in the world of wonky house.
'Get Fakt EP 01' features as part of Fakt Recordings debut mix album 'Get Fakt 01 Mixed by Black Russian' available free to existing customers of Trackitdown.net as well as free to those purchasing Fakt Releases on Beatport as well as all leading download stores.
Get Fakt!
Originally launched in September 06 under the watchful eyes of DJ / production duo Catz, Fakt Recordings fast made its name amongst the international house community with killer cuts from Catz themselves alongside Digital Filth, Mark Sun, David Ekenback, Jnr J and of course, in-house super producers Black Russian and Fake Hero.
In the short space of time since its launch the label can count the likes of; Sasha, Claude Von Stroke, Tim Sheridan, Mike Monday, Steve Lawler, Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela, Tom Middleton, Tom Stephan, Sebastien Leger and many high-tech house aficionados as fans.
Get Fakt 01 is a 15 track mix album featuring brand new material from the new faktion; Black Russian, Tom Real, Fake Hero, Dom Kane, Catz, 2Special and Off Key. It’s high-tech wonky house music for the wrong side of midnight and it’s available to download now at www.trackitdown.net !
Straight out the Urals! The mysterious super producer Black Russian made a splash with his first ever production Ringshifter on Fakt Records 12 months ago and hasn't looked back.
Supported by Sasha, James Zabiela, Steve Lawler, Claude Von Stroke, Sebastien Leger, Gabriel & Dresden, Tom Middleton and more, the collaboration with rising cool house DJ's Cheshire Catz opened the door to world of house music from the wrong side of midnight!
A founding member of the exotic Fakt Team of high-tech house producers and DJ's whose impending rise to the fore will be more meteoric than Halles Comet, Black Russian has brought the cinematic soundtrack of the Steppes to the world's coolest dancefloors.
His first solo EP included Crazy, a mammoth cross-over electro/breaks anthem that saw a raft of support from as broad a range of DJ's as Marco V to Meat Katie. More chunky than the cool house collaborations with Cheshire Catz this showcases his skills and with more exciting hook-ups and solo projects under way Black is back with a vengeance!
FAKT006 - Black Russian & The Cheshire Catz - Wrong / Terrace Whore
RADIO COMMENTS:
DJ Paulette - "Terrace Whore is very Miami / Ibiza sunshine bound - it's percussive roller with guitar highlights, soaring effects, a fat farting bass and ravey piano stabs which has tested well for me in the clubs (especially since i do love a bit of air guitar) and the breakdown switchbacks have very much the desired effect. Excellent stuff. I do like the cheshire catz and blackrussian separately and this combination is by no means a disappointment. 7/10 Wrong - is a weird, wonky and wobbly acid house stomper that keeps to the corners if you know what i mean. Not for kids. 7/10"
Onno Van Velzen – (FG Underground France) – "The breakdown in Terrace Whore is excellent!

there last few tracks have been really cool edgy techy / glitchy productions.
There more pumping and dancefloor orientated than other more minimal tracks
around right now, and much better! Sound FIERCE on a load system.
Hooked On Hope Vox works for me. Ringshifter as a dub track is GREAT! Really
really like this and will be able to use this loads. M8 Mag reviews on this
assured
Tom Middleton - "Well bleep me with a glitchfork! these three are all going to
fit nicely into a peaktime electro tech house set. Dub for me...does wooly have
it...sounds right up his basic street. Crunchy digital topshelf tunage. Yep...
defo the dub for me!"

a real Hands up thing in my set! It´s funky and got good bassline in it!"
