About Me

history of my sound …… my “story” began when I was a child. my mum sent me to piano lessons. why? as you know many parents send their children to lesson without a good reason. it’s just the way it is. it’s a usual thing there. I think she didn’t have the intention to see me as a piano maestro after years of brainfuck-practicing. I think for her it was just nice to seeing her own child play ceremonial songs at christmas time …… anyway, I never enjoyed this way of making music. learning and practicing boring songs from a sheet of music. that was not my cup of tea. the logical result: in my time of adolescence, as my mind became more free, I decided to finish the whole piano thing. my mum wasn’t really amused about that but it made no difference to me ………………………………years of musical silence and wasting time …………………………………………… few years after my piano trauma I decided to buy drums. I don’t know the concrete reason for my decision. I think influences of good music (mostly rock, grunge and crossover) and friends created my new positive view of making music. my own musical renaissance started. I learned my first grooves and started jamming with friends some punk music. an important first experience to me. after a while we stopped rehearsing. but to be honest, it was not my intention to play modern fast and happy sounding punk music. at the end I kept on autodidactic-practicing and friends introduced me to the fascinating world of metal music …… two years later something allured me to try playing e-guitar. a good friend of mine allowed me to rape his guitar a little bit. from this moment I knew that I have to buy an electric six string. no sooner thought that done. a royal-blue ibanez grx-70 and a 15 W marshall amplifier became my new toys. I tried my first power chords, harmonies and disharmonies respectively. the mind cleaning effect of jamming around and practicing was the right thing for me. wasting time with making music meant a lot for me from this moment on. I recorded my little ideas with a dictaphone. hearing the results gave me a certain satisfaction which had big motivation as a result. but just recording with a shitty sounding dictaphone wasn’t enough …… so I bought a digital multi-track-recorder (zoom mrs-802). I spent a lot of time with my new digital friend. my new hobby was to find own riffs and melodies and arranging songs (mostly long tracks). some great bands influenced my own and weird style of writing songs. my rapture for writing own music soon included my need to understand the secrets of satisfying good sounding mixes. at status quo my songs sound like me. the mixes could be better but step by step my musical “hand writing” becomes unique. and I think that’s what it is all about. the own unique style, the own unique sound …… hope you enjoyed the little history of my sound and excuse my possible misspelling …
