Aloha! My name is Jya and i am a Fire Dancer/Musician/Model from Portland, ME! I am just getting back into the New Engalnd area from my backpacking/camping trip to the Hawaiian Islands, California,Florida, and Washington State. Travel...is my passion...its what i live for. There are a million and one places i want to see before i am aged and its very important to me to expand my visual and cultural horizons through "going there and doing that".
When im not traveling about...i can usually be found in Portland,throwing around flames with my crew, The Molotov Fire Cirkus...and recording electronic beats as DJ Rychus...Its the most amazing job anyone could ask for. I also do some small modeling projects on the side...mostly for friends and college projects.
This particular part of the journey i am on is one of refreshment and self discovery. For the first time in my life i am awake and willing to do whatever it is i need to do to live a happy and regret free life. I love to meet new and interesting people...share knowledge and experiance and grow as people with those who are on simular quests to self improvement and peace.
Music and fire are a big part of my life..to me they are the two of the most beautiful things in the world (especailly when they are hand in hand)i love to be surrounded by them wherever i go. Ive been practicing the art of POI (Polynesian Fire Dancing) For about 5 years and it is a beautiful work of art. Ive lived in Maine for most of my life (northern) but ive also lived in Hawaii, North Carolina, and Tampa.
Im really down to earth and i just want to be happy and live a life that is fulfilling with little regrets mixed with lots of human interactions and experiances..
I direct the majority of my free time to my POI with both chains and a hoop...it is an amazing feeling to be surrounded by flames..and getting paid for it doesnt hurt! The sound the flame makes as it dances around your body is indescribable...a fine indulgence for a common seeker..lol. I'm a pretty busy girl right now but i will always make room to do something cool or out of the ordinary.
Ive taken a beating to my heart over the last year or so and i am confident that i will never again put myself in a place where i am unhappy and unfullfilled. I have come out of my last relationship stronger then i have ever been and more willing then ever to love again, passionatly, with all my heart.
I'm pretty easy to get along with as long as i'm not surrounded by ignorance, people who let drama control their lives and intend to ruin others, brainwashing religions, or folks that will never reach adulthood. Alot of people let their mouths run saying whatever that comes out of there nouths without thinking...i used to be like that...but ill be damned if im ever like that again. Quiet does not always mean passive..knowing when/when not to speak is very important and i dont think alot of people realize that. I believe that true wisdom can be found in your ability to be silent yet outgoing at the same time.
I just want to meet new people..fall in/out of love..make crazy and irrational decitions,fall down and get my hands dirty..and then do it all over again. cause really...that is what life is all about. getting to know yourself..making mistakes...making adventure and loving the freinds that you make/loose while doing it. The most powerfull thing we can offer is LIVING FOR NOW..IN THE NOW...cause in reality...its really all we can rely on. I am an avid believer of the power of Buddhism....this moment is all we have...we need to embrace it.
If this makes any sense to you what so ever give me a yell...maybe well find a thing or two in common.
