I am here for Friends

About Me

Well, I'm bi-racial (black and white with a touch of native american) and, I have to say, I love it! I think that because I am culturally rich in my own heritage, that I've turned it into being curious, yet respectful, of others' culture. But I really do love being able to identify with or relate to a lot of people culturally.
A lot of people ask me if I identify more with the white side or the black side of my heritage more and I don't really answer them. I'm not white and I'm not black...I'm just me. I'm Megan, a Child of God. That's the best and ONLY description of who I am.I love music. I've played piano all of my life, though not very well. Anytime I hear a piece of music with a soft piano prominantly featured, I'm a gonner. A piano can capture my heart like so few things can. I've been away from the piano for quite some time, but it's always been a solace for me, a place of comfort. My best friend and confidant. I tell it all my secrets and it never desires to divulge them or betray me. It just simply delights in playing my silly tunes and being my friend.
I'm starting to delve more into the artist side of myself. I've been doing more painting, more piano playing, more listening to music that moves me, taking more pictures, more deep thinking... I have no idea where this is leading me (if it is in fact leading me anywhere) but I feel like I'm getting to know myself even more. It's quite a feeling to realize that you can't wait to rush home so you can spend more time with...yourSELF.

My Interests

Reading, painting, figuring songs out by ear, writing, walking and hiking, picture editing. I like to sing and TRY to write music! :) I like watching TV and DVDs too much although I've been trying to free myself from it's clutches recently. Not successfully I might add...

I'd like to meet:

My future husband. And NO! This is not your invitation to ask me out. ...and maybe Lee Pace, the star of my new favorite film "The Fall" and ABC's "Pushing Daisies."
Here's the trailer for "The Fall" in selected theaters now:

Music:

I like all genres of music (except polka). My ultimate favorite genre would have to be film scores. I know it's kinda weird, but I think film scores are more passionate and raw in the emotions they provoke and exude. There aren't any politics or religion to disagree with or be put off by...it's just love, hate, confusion, happiness, or any emotion you can think of. It's pure emotion that we, the listeners, get to interpret into it by whatever is inside of us...or whatever we wish was inside of us.I'd LOVE to be able to work on a film score one day. Especially, with Thomas Newman. He's my favorite composer of film scores. He's a composer after my own heart...sometimes I think he actually writes/reflects part of my soul into some of his pieces. So if you want to know me, you can just listen to some of his work, I guess. :)Currently listening to: Radiohead "OK Computer", Keane "Under the Iron Sea", MUSE "Black Holes and Revelations", and various film scores.
