About Me

My interests will probably tell you more about me than anything else. Except that I am pretty shy - which might be a surprise to some folks. And yes, I'm a country girl, which is why I can use the word 'folks' in a sentence without blinking.
You Are Shandarella!

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.

My Interests

My relationships with God, family and friends are very important to me. Those come first and foremost. On a personal level, I'm an aspiring writer, actor, painter and cook who loves music, movies, books, comedy, art and antiques. However, music would have to be my biggest hobby/passion. Singing, writing, vocally arranging - I love to do it all... I enjoy most any kind of music, except scary metal and hard core rap. One of my favorite things in life is to discover a new (or new to me) artist whose music impacts me.

I'd like to meet:

Folks that inspire me, encourage me, or just make me laugh...

Music:

Wow... Where to start? Nashville folks like Abel Orta, Anthony Facello, Arlene Gutierrez, B. Reith, Bryan White, Calvin Nowell, Daniel Kirkley, Debi Selby, Dino & Janna Pastin, Ella, Jaicob Soosemea, Jason Eskridge, Jimmy Wayne, Jonathan Pierce, The Katinas, Melinda Dolittle, M.O.C., The Newsboys, Nirva Ready, Nissi Allen, Peter Penrose, Steve Krenz & Toby Mac are all great talents. ____________________________ Other favorites (in no particular order) include: James Morrison, The Eagles, Merle Haggard, Marc Broussard, John Williams, CeCe Winans, Little River Band, Chicago, The Martins, Michael McDonald, David Pack, Ambrosia, Patti Austin, David Foster, Go West, Toto, Dan Fogelberg, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, George Strait, The Corrs, America, Nickel Creek, Sting, Juanita Bynum, Bruce Hornsby, Professor Longhair, The Crabb Family, Def Leppard, Israel Houghton, James Taylor, William Murphy, Michael Buble, Rob Thomas, Martina McBride, Fred Hammond, Earth Wind & Fire, Chris Rice, The Chieftains, Tim McGraw, Jamie Cullum, Jonny Lang, Mindy Smith, Annie Lennox, and the list goes on and on...

Movies:

Chick Movies Rock!!!! Like most estrogen-based life forms, I enjoy good romantic comedies, English costume dramas and old musicals. Especially if they mix comedy and romantic themes well - like 'The Princess Bride', for example. But classic films are the best - actors like Gregory Peck, Dick Van Dyke, Danny Kaye, Cary Grant, Bobby Darin, Jimmy Stewart, Bing Crosby, Howard Keel, Jane Powell, Debbie Reynolds, Sandra Dee, Doris Day and of course, Judy Garland created some great art that stands the test of time! I also really enjoy British humor (Monty Python, Wallace & Gromit) as well as the work of Tyler Perry and Christopher Guest...

Television:

BBC America is the best!! I have a new favorite show called "Clatterford". It was created, written and directed by Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders - the creative geniuses behind "French & Saunders", "The Vicar of Dibley" and "Absolutely Fabulous". This show centers around the church altar guild of a small English town. The scenery of the English countryside is be-u-ti-ful!! And the show is spiritual, poignant and yet hilarious... I laugh out loud during every episode.

Books:

Other than the Bible, let me make it easier and just list a few of my favorite authors, instead of specific books, okay? Here goes: Harper Lee, Jane Austen, LM Montgomery, Dee Henderson, Dorothy Gilman, Dick Francis, Lori Wick, C.S. Lewis, Patricia Cornwell, John Grisham, William Shakespeare, Agatha Christie, Emilie Loring, John & Stasi Eldridge, Stormie Omartian, Denise Hildreth, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, Mark Twain, Donald Miller, Fannie Flagg, Betty Malz, Shalom Aleichem and William Faulkner.

Heroes:

God & My Parents. Others who have inspired me greatly are my Aunt - Betty Malz, Sarah Cannon (Ms. Minnie Pearl), Carol Burnett, Dolly Parton, Dale Evans Rogers & Paula Deen.

I have to recant and take back all the ugly things I've ever said about XM radio.  Don't get me wrong, I think they still track what you listen to.  (But that's a conspiracy theory that we'l...
