African Konnection is an African Hip Hop Group. Often referred to as â€AKâ€, they are all about creating a movement of peace and love while having fun through Soulful yet energizing hip hop music within the African continent and The International Communities around the world. African Konnection or rather “AK†is a group consisting of DonBigE (Emmanuel O. Michaels); a Nigerian born Entertainment Artist who has been very notable in the Bangkok hip hop arena since 2001 and Mark Daddy (pronounced Diddy); a highly talented vocalist and a Rapper born in Cameroun.................................................... .................... DonBigE was born in the city of Onitsha, Nigeria on April 1982. Raised in the Eastern part of the country, he quickly made a name for himself through his outstanding personality in Entertainment and involvement in social circles within the country. He later left Nigeria at the age of 16 to pursue his higher education abroad. After a short stay in Europe he finally found his love for Asia and found himself in china where he acquired the Chinese language speaking skills after one year; he went on to study another year in computer engineering. During his stay in china, DonBigE made a name for himself through performing in local hip hop bars around the city of Hangzhou and Shanghai at times....................................................... ..... Due to his talent and educational aspirations which did not fit into china at that time, DonBigE left china for Bangkok, Thailand after he secured an admission to attend Assumption University of Thailand in 2001. On arriving and settling down in Bangkok city, DonBigE knew it was time to take his talent to an international level. He began writing songs and developing his skills whenever he had free time from school work; this lead to him being part of Siccmindz, an international hip hop group which he co-founded. He has also worked with Sony BMG Thailand and numerous Thai Super Stars namely Tata Young, Mint Uttawadee and Asian Embassy amongst many. DonBigE’s major stage appearances includes; Opening for 50 Cent world tour in 2006, Fat International Music Festival 2004, 2005 and 2006 respectively. DonBigE is also know in the Night club scene as a Hip Hop MC, on countless occasions, he has rocked crowds at a number of upscale hip hop clubs namely; Escudo, Santika, Route 66, Bed Club, QBar and numerous underground Hip Hop clubs within Thailand and mainland china. ............................................................ ............. On the order hand, Mark Daddy Mochio popularly known as (Mark Daddy, D.Lil, MDD’ MD, Mark Diddy) was born in Buea, the south west provincial capital of Cameroon. Mark Daddy stated his musical career in the provincial capital of Cameroon (Douala) with the group (DREAM 2 REAL) through which he became known as one of the best vocalist and song writers and composer in that area. He later decided to begin a solo career working and featuring with home Celebrities Big BZY, Nabil 4real, Franky P, Randy P etc......................................................... ...................... Due to the fact that Hip hop was not really evolving back home at that time and with his big ambitions, Mark Daddy decided to make his way internationally. His first stop was in Czech rep where situations were not set for a talent like Mark Daddy’s so he move over to the UK which wasn’t in Daddy’s’ favor either. After much struggle to be heard Mark returned back home and decided to quite music and carry on with his basketball career with which he moved over to Singapore. On a visit to Bangkok Thailand, he came across an equally talented African Entertainment artist from Nigeria (DonBigE), together they tested their skills and began appearing together in club scenes and on stages entertaining hip hop fans with their unique and charismatic performances................................................ ........................... Without being told, hip hop fans began speculating on the group’s debut Album which is being scheduled for release in Africa during the first quarter of 2008 and internationally by the following quarters. AK’s upcoming Album is in line to set standards for future African Hip Hop Music and Entertainment as DonBigE and Mark Daddy twist and turn lyrics in mainly English and a little bit of Broken English like never heard before.
