About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4MindSplitter was founded in 2004 with the common goal of creating the kind of music they wanted to create; music that can be enjoyed by the occasional recreational listener and also by people who appreciate music that consists of a deeper, underlying message. Located in Middle Tennessee, Mindsplitter has played just about every venue in Tennessee and is expanding to other regions of the U.S. displaying an energetic stage show along with powerful music that is determined to grab the audience’s attention. With influences in punk, thrash, speed, jazz, blues, rock, and every other kind of genre (yes, even pop music), Mindsplitter strives to create music that displays an appreciation for all artistic forms. MindSplitter is always prepared to deliver their message anytime and anywhere to anyone within hearing distance.MindSplitter was formed by four guys who love music, good music. Music that means something; music that stands out in the sea of a hundred bands that are trying to follow in the same steps of a previous band that made good music and was remembered for it; music that was made for the heart and the mind, not the bank account. Music from musicians that weren’t afraid to speak their mind even if they knew the majority of people didn’t want to hear it, but crammed it down their throat anyway because they knew people would eventually understand and benefit from it; music that took advantage of one of the last bastions of actual free speech. MindSplitter was also founded because we are tired of picking up a new CD from a band that has two good songs and, on the rest of the album, you can’t tell where one song ends and another begins because they all sound the same. We are tired of all these little labels and sub-genres being put on music although we know that if music is put into little packages, it will sell better. We are also sick of seeing these so-called “musicians” that may look the part on TV but write songs with no substance and we know people out there are tired of it too. People don’t want music they don’t like being force-fed to them and having to pick a “favorite band by default” because the same music stays in rotation on TV and radio for weeks and even months without giving other good music a chance. You’ve probably heard the old saying, “If you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself,” that is why Mindsplitter was formed. We pride ourselves on making the music we want and doing things on our own. That’s why we don’t have someone else writing this bio, they just wouldn’t understand what we’re about. We strive to make music that’s exciting, yet insightful; entertaining, yet thought-provoking. We don’t really give a shit if people like us or not, we just want them to listen for a minute. MindSplitter cannot be summed up in a certain genre. Individually, we all love and are deeply rooted in metal but we are open-minded with our music and incorporate many different styles because, like most people, we like many genres. Our music depicts life (real and abstract), different sides to real situations and conflicts, and what is acceptable or discouraged, hence the name. We make music that keeps us motivated and interested, we are real, we write what we see and what we believe, and we don’t care about having an image, we’re just musicians that love what we do.
