I am Nonsense. But even as Nonsense, I make sense.

I am currently working as a data entry monkey.

Here are two videos of me skating: my backside 540 early grab at Stockwell

Movies:

Studio Ghibli films, Marx Brothers films, Withnail And I, Buster Keaton, One Flew Over The Cukoo Nest, Amelie, Fight Club, Lilia Forever, Mallrats..... I rarely watch films. Strangely, despite being able to sit and read comfortably for hours, I usually can't sit still long enough to watch a film.

Television:

"where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise," - Thomas Gray (1716–1771).
I stay away from the television in case I end up watching a bit of the news. I am blissfully ignorant of current affairs. I am all the more blissful in my ignorance of celebrity folly.

Books:

The literature of Kurt Vonnegut, Louis-Ferdinand Celine, Henry Miller, Knut Hamsun, Charles Bukowski, Cervantes, Adam Green (who wrote Satsuma Sun-mover), James Frey, George Orwell, Herman Hesse, Ernest Hemingway, John Kennedy Toole, Charles Dickens, Ma Jian, Shakespeare, Gunter Grass, Stendhal, Mark Twain, Flann O'Brien, Peter Manson, and John Fante. The comics of Peter Blegvad and Glen Baxter. The thought of Richard Rorty, Friedrich Nietzsche, Karl Marx, Thomas Kuhn, Mikhail Bakhtin, Epicurus, Heraclitus, and most of all: Sigmund Freud. I also love the photography of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Dan Eatok. I am slowly exploring paintings: I like Hopper and Heironymous Bosch. Andy Goldsworthy's art rules too.

Heroes:

Harpo Marx. Kurt Vonnegut. Daniel Kitson. Friedrich Nietzsche. Bill Evans. Sigmund Freud. Roxorloops (beatboxer). [Skateboarders:] Og de Souza, Mark Gonzales, Chris Haslam, Louis Barletta, Jason Adams, Danny Supa, Ragdoll, William Spencer, Marc Johnson, Daewon Song, Dan Drehobl, and Colin Fiske.

The Art of Suffering: That Spoilt Boy Is Complaining Again

It is a grotesquely beautiful feeling, knowing that you are doomed - knowing that you are going to fail miserably and that there is nothing for it. I am currently inhaling deeply the scent of fai...

The Jubilee Line Near-Death Experience - A 31 Mile Walk.

Having walked the Bakerloo Line not too long ago Jack and I decided we would try something harder. The Jubilee line itself (if we were to walk along the track) is 22.5 miles. That is already longer th...

Mythopoeism: How to Formulate a Superstition or Conspiracy Theory and Provide "Proof"

More (jealousy-induced) Anti-Intellectualism

The essays I'm supposed to write for my degree are strange. They want me to say something interesting, something inventive, a new or original angle. Now, I certainly find much...

Diatribe: Against Theory and University

I am studying an absurdly empty degree. A Masters in European Thought. When we aren't going round in theoretical circles we are mapping new circular realms of theory, creating questions whos...

A small dot, the full stop, yet it does so much to stop the speedy flow of the eyes.

What is the etymology of dandruff? "#Don't stand so close to me#". I am in a calm delirium. Janus (the Roman God of gates, doorways, beginnings, and endings) had two heads; hi...

Wrestling

The old shop was just off Carnaby Street and it was bare, concrete and empty save a mocked up wrestling ring. It was crafted, rather skilfully I thought, from a wooden stage a...
