MULTIDIMENSIONALITY

About Me

I have been accused of being a slang generator, and audio architecht, a bastion of good vibe, and a somewhat visually inclined type. Personally, I have to tell you that YES, I do in fact RULE! hahaha

take a look at my silly visual work at this addy: http://robert.ashton.googlepages.com/home

I make a monthly podcast under the moniker selector23. Every month I align a series of similarly styled DUB picks in a sequence that lends itself to listening to the entire program. Each edition focuses on a specific nuance of the DUB style, or a specific artist. New shows drop on on or around the 15th each time.

My Interests

dub, boccee, AIM, subliminal messages, hypnotism, mind control, manipulating large numbers of people to do positive things, kegs, plants, hallucinogens, twizzlers, smart asses, pranksters, car jumps, legos, your girlfriend, tense situations, catalogs, improvising, creative visualization, surveying trivialities, sneaking in, leaving social getherings undetected without saying goodbye, being a rude prick but wrapping it in satin so you have no idea that you are the target, playing dumb, being wise, patience, laser clowns, lurking, random acts of chaos, thrift shopping, local politics, calculators, stayin in, reference books, independent corporate sabatoge, consulting on any issue or problem (small fee required, sorry), heartfelt apologies and living in such a way that I never have to make any, being right, luxuriating in undetectable smugness

I'd like to meet:

People who rule to the fullness, arty farty types, dub enthusiats, crate diggers, purveyors of housemusic, drum and bass, classic rock, easy listening, or any and all eclectic musical hues. Boccee players of course, will be invited to the fold straight away.

Music:

-minimal tech house, preferably dubbed out to space and back in the early AM after I have been up for a little too long -pretty much all DUB, but mainly Scientist and King Tubby (nod to Augustus Pablo as well as I would say) -drum and bass from both the hard as nails and more mellow ends of the spectrum -hip hop circa 1984-1992 -Burt Bacharach, Mystic Moods Orchetra, and any well done plain vanilla easy listening -Esquivel (he gets his own catagory) -DKs, Agent Orange, Suicidal, S.O.D. -Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb, Kraftwerk, Sisters of Mercy, Meat Beat Manifesto, early Wax Trax -more dub -a lil more dub, especially on sundays -The Orb

Movies:

-All the Wes Anderson stuff (bottlerocket, rushmore, tanenbaums) -Closetland -Corndog Man -Ghost World -Barberella + CQ (for the design aspect) -Texas Chainsaw Masacre II (for all the samples skinny puppy used from that one) -Rockers and The Harder They Come -Erol Morris (Fast Cheap and Out of Countrol, Lakeland Florida, etc) -All the Christopher Guest Mockumentaries (Best In Show, A Mighty Wind, etc)
