The cascading months since the inception of Rhesus Negative, in early 2005, has seen changing band members and the occasional change of pants. Conceived by the two Rhys’ (Rhys Tyler & Rhys Pritchard) they assay for simplicity in an ever complex musical sphere; bringing an alternative sound to the usual wallpaper that bombards our ears. Playing throughout the South Wales valleys, in the usual haunts, they have started to turn heads and intrigue.
Rhys Tyler is a small, quiet and introvert front man with the voice of a giant. Crossing the vocal styles of Jeff Buckley and Matthew Bellamy, Tyler never fails to impress both vocally and instrumentally on guitar.
Rhys Pritchard is yet to burn his plectrum but still holds solidity within the rhythm section. He has and always will be an essential aspect in the creative functionality of the band.
Early 2006 has seen the addition of two members; Gethin Cox on drums and Liam Tyler on guitar. Liam, the youngest of the Tyler family seems to be following his brothers footsteps and brings a new dynamic to the sound of the band.
Gethin, the latest member of the Rhesus Negative fore some has fit into the group perfectly. Master crafts man by day, rock musician by night, his hard-hitting, energetic style of playing has emphasized the bands presence.
Judging from their success during the past two years, 2008 is looking to be promising. Rhesus Negative are sure to be in your area very soon.
