Thank you for taking the time to visit my MySpace and to view my work. As you will notice, my style of photography leans toward the photojournalistic and candid varieties. I prefer natural settings, lighting and poses over studio work. My best pictures are taken when the subject isn't concerned about the camera. I hope you find that my photos reflect the personal nature of my creative services. I believe that the true essence of capturing life in a photograph is catching the moment. Whether the setting is a concert, a soccer game, a corporate gathering, a wedding, a child's play date or a family get-together at the park, I truly enjoy the art I create by photographing special memories.
Being from Northern California, I grew up with an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. I graduated from college in Florida and lived in several places thereafter, eventually landing in Kansas City where I have settled and made my home. I love the artistic beauty that is all around us and believe that pictures help capture life's many moments.
Though schooled as a business psychologist and adult educator, I have been intrigued by taking pictures since childhood. I experienced a renewed enthusiasm and enjoyment for photography after becoming a mother and spending a few inspiring years living in Wyoming. A new passion was born within me. I soon found myself filling the walls of my home with my own portraiture art and transforming a serious hobby into a business.
When not behind a camera, I continue to nurture my creative spirit by spending precious time with my son and enjoying my other passions of fun with friends, music, kayaking, biking and exploring what each new day has to offer.
