About Me

The Leo Project is emotion, soul, and passion. Forming in 2005, TLP has quickly become one of the most well respected and sought after acts in the Mid-West. The band tours constantly, sharing the stage with the likes of Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, 3 Days Grace, Seether, Slipknot, Sevendust, Godsmack, Rob Zombie, Shinedown, As I Lay Dying, Unearth, 36 Crazyfists, Hinder, Powerman 5000, Bobaflex, Hypnogaja, and many more.
Front man and guitarist, Tyler Lyon, started TLP in the spring of 2005 as an acoustic project. Lyon’s cousin and 18 year old percussion phenom, Lance Bennett, joined the mix along with bassist Sean Hamel. The band practiced and tracked songs for months, finally developing their unique sound and stage show. Lead guitarist, Creighton Bibbs, joined TLP in the spring of 2007 after a long and tedious audition period. With the lineup set, The Leo Project has never looked back. The combination of Tyler and Sean’s vocal ability definitely has set the band apart from their rock and metal counterparts. With influences ranging from Pantera and Van Halen, to ZZ Top and Phil Collins, each member definitely has an eclectic list of inspiration. That mix, when combined with one another, achieves a signature identity of melody and all out metal that gives TLP their unique sound.
TLP has become well known for their intense live show. The band tours relentlessly in support of their award winning debut album, "The Burning". The record is a powerful and passionate display of soulful singing, huge harmonies, riveting guitar work, and unprecedented percussion. With their album flying off shelves, award winning musical ability, and a deep love for their fans, TLP shows no signs of slowing down.
The Leo Project has finished their sophomore album with producer Fred Archambault (deftones, Avenged Sevenfold). The new music is a testament to the band’s musical and personal growth over the past year. Look for the new album from The Leo Project in the spring of 2008!! As well as their new LIVE DVD, also available Spring 2008!!

Influences: Press:

"I have not seen a group this promising in a long time. They cover all the bases, from soft to hard, slow to fast in the blink of an eye. They were not excessively brutal, and throw in intense melodic riffs with excellent vocals from front man Tyler Lyon, especially when harmonized with bassist and backing vocalist Sean Hamel. The songwriting is beautifully arranged, these guys obviously have their act together."
-Jeanie Moore, Heavy Frequency Magazine

"The Leo Project, a four-piece, was the event's smallest band, but it definitely packed the hardest punch."
-Jason Harper, The Pitch

"The Leo Project rocked our balls off next. Singer Tyler Lyon plays an upside-down black Gibson SG left-handed and sings like a maniac. It¹s definitely mainstream, new-rock-influenced metal, but it sounds damn good and heavy."
-The Pitch, 2006
