StreetTigers Mission Statement
The idea of this myspace page is to get all interested Tiger Lillies fans to talk to each other, to get involved and motivate each other in the active promotion of live shows, video clips, animations, illustrations, albums, blogging and more. The idea is to spread the word to new fans to heighten awareness of the band in the run up to their 20th anniversary in 2009. Tickets/ cd’s will be given to those actively coordinating promotion.
We have already had people help out with flyering and posters, internet posting and reviewing and we want to encourage more of this. If you know of great internet blog sites to post your reviews of tiger lillies shows or to announce their new dates, if you know journalists that can come and review/preview shows for us or write features in fanzines and magazines or online. If you DJ or VJ or curate an art gallery we are interested, if you run an independent shop and want to stock cds, or run an online music site or book store and want to sell Tiger Lillies material.
We want your drawings and illustrations to post on the site, old photos, ramblings, anecdotes and opinions to be swapped and chewed over on the page.
We know that you are an entrepreneurial bunch and we are looking for new and imaginative ways to promote the band.
This won’t happen overnight but gradually we hope to build up a unique network across the globe of fans that independently operate but that become an integral part of our team.
We will also be featuring special personal internet Q&A sessions with band and podcasts in the future depending on demand for it.
We also have talented creatives making animated videos and documentaries of the band with the aim that this material, both archive and new will be collated and possibly included in a special edition DVD release for the anniversary. There is always room for more.
We also want anyone that is sitting on old footage of the band playing at gigs 10-15 years ago to get in touch.
We want to make something special for 2009 and only with your help can we achieve this. We want to hear what you want on the DVD what songs across the 22 albums and what other content would you like to see?
