Who let you in here?

About Me

About me? Let's see. I'm a self-admitted geek; I love Doctor Who, collect rare and bizarre music, and make strange and unusually themed compilation albums in my spare time. I scare people in Sainsburys by singing Tiger Lillies songs to myself while doing my shopping. I'm learning to play the piano. I once stapled my own forehead whilst performing a magic trick, and then told everyone I'd been bitten by a spider to explain the two puncture holes. I'm absolutely terrified of zombies, milk and David Foley. I love designing things; badges are a speciality, and I get a kick out of coding something that actually works. I have dreams that I should write down and publish because they're hilarious. I've recorded four songs for an album called 'Inside Your Ears', and am a member of the band 'Saw Whores' who have yet to record anything because we can't stop laughing. I wrote a 51,000 word novel in a month last year for NaNoWriMo. I drink far too much coffee, enjoy watching ice-hockey, and like people who aren't afraid to hug. Aside from the forum I run for a minor celebrity illusionist off the telly (which both amuses and horrifies me) I've just recently set up a new forum with Jen-GC which is all to do with London's perverse troubadours, The Tiger Lillies, so come and say hello at www.tigerlilliesforum.com
Predictably, I'm the one with the Doctor Who avatar. Thank you.

My Interests

Oh, I covered that in the 'About Me' bit. Sorry.

I'd like to meet:

The Doctor. He exists. I know he does.

Music:

You name it, I probably like it. As an example, I have on my iPod at the moment The Tiger Lillies, Captain Beefheart, Apocalyptica, Ween, The Butthole Surfers, Murray Gold, Royal Trux, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rogue Traders, Willie Dixon, and a song from Spongebob Squarepants. But I also hunt down and collect rare music, and recently bought a collection of superb 1920's and 30's American blues songs, originally released on 78's. I like to make my own music too, though, and can frequently be found in my lounge accompanying various CDs on various instruments, or writing daft songs.

Movies:

Movies, movies...I like Luc Besson and Guy Ritchie movies; adventure stuff, British comedies and movies with twists. I like psychological horror movies, but not full-on blood 'n' guts stuff, and definitely not zombie movies (see 'About Me'). I love 'RiffTrax' movies - if you love a good laugh, go to RiffTrax.com and get the trax for 'DareDevil', 'The Matrix', 'Aeon Flux' 'Glitter' (if you can bear it) or 'Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country'. And if you're feeling really brave, get 'Roadhouse'. What you do is play the MP3 at the same time as the movie, you see. But you'll thank me for it, even if you have to walk yourself down to Blockbuster to get a copy of the DVD.

Television:

'Doctor Who'. Oh, and just recently I got into 'Heroes', and 'Life On Mars' (which resulted in an embarrassing intermittent Mancunian accent). But that's about it for my regular viewing habits. I've never even seen '24' or 'Lost', that's how little I watch telly. I do, however, have a DVD collection to die for. Seriously. If it falls over on anyone, they're a goner.

Books:

Yeah, loads. My bedroom looks more like a library. I read 'A Year At The Movies' by Kevin Murphy a little while ago, and it's bloody brilliant and very funny. I'm currently reading a book about HTML coding, which isn't quite as entertaining and hasn't made me laugh yet. I like to write too, but aside from the book I wrote last year, my scribblings have pretty much been restricted to porn.

Heroes:

Puma Man. He flies like a moron.

Apocalyptica At The London Forum - 7th March

I'm not sure how many of you will have heard of Apocalyptica, so I shall try to describe them for you. Imagine, if you will, a rock band complete with headbanging, ripped jeans, leather clothes, the o...

And Now...Some Things To Smile About!

Things to smile about are much better... ;o) So, firstly, there's not to long to go until Doctor Who is back on the air. I've had a read up on the episodes of the new season today, and there looks lik...

Work Sucks.

I've always got on really well with the girls I work with. That is, until I started working on our summer shifts. Since then, even though I hadn't actually finalised any of the shifts, I've had people...

Bees Are Bastards.

I stared death in the face this morning, all because of a damned bumblebee. There I was, driving to work up the motorway, when suddenly the biggest bee you've ever seen in your life appeared in front ...

Spasm in the 21st Century

My old computer - in the last six months I'd noticed it getting slower and slower. It was like an electronic tortoise that I continually wanted to poke up the bottom with my foot to try to get it to g...
