JIMMY NEWQUIST

My name is Jimmy. I am the 7th of 8 kids in my family. I've been writing songs most of my life. The first song I can remember writing was called "Downtown IS Dangerous!" This unknown classic contained three notes and four lines that repeated over & over. I was five. I made my first recording in a studio when I was around 10 - playing drums for my older brothers' band. They taught me how to play different instruments and how to be a better songwriter in a serious band with goals. I will never forget the first time I heard one of my songs on the radio. I screamed for so long, I missed half the tune. I was sixteen and I was hooked. Since then, I've heard more of my songs on the radio, toured all over the U.S. & Europe, and worked with some amazing people. I feel very fortunate to have music in my life.
