Kitsch Kween!

About Me

I appreciate tradition. I stop to admire the simple beauty in things, like a collage of oak leaves all different shades of fall laying on the sidewalk. Or the diamond-like dew drops that rest on spider webs. I can be demure or a total deviant but am usually considered appropriate. I am honest ... sometimes to my own detriment. I am bold but not fearless. I am spontaneous but not impulsive. I find my generosity to be most rewarding but find myself increasingly exhausted from all the takers in the world. I'm intelligent but totally spun.
I am alumni of the school of hard knocks, that is, a scholar of life and I have been there done that and don't mind doing it again...basically I can embrace change with ease but am very fond of familiarity. I am a gen-X-er with a baby boomer work ethic who always has her rose-colored glasses on. I've been called a "darla-the-do-gooder" who has a serious proclivity towards very baaaad things" Or like "J" used to say "I'm Gidget goes to a Punk Gig".
And last but not least, I am funny but am rarely hilarious. I am a geek with style or as my kids say...that just means I'm a dork. I am a dork... a big one.
I am citrus fruit, tart green apples, a saxophone's smokey jazz riff and the hard bass line of a great punk jam. I am a misty forest of ancient trees, someone who likes to solve problems and mysteries, holiday traditions and memories to treasure, giving of any kind is my pleasure. I offer solutions instead of complaining, and appreciate art that doesn't need explaining. My patience is very likely to last and I usually talk way way WAY too fast.
Finally, someone special said I have a heart of gold, someone, whom I will still cherish, when I'm gray and old.

Genuine Sentiments

Because it is after all "My"Space here are some bands I suggest you check out that not only are awesome, but more importantly have at least one person in them that I adore because they are amazingly talented and my friend! *flips hair off shoulder in a yeah check me out kinda way.*

"...desperately swank catchy trashy bluesy jazzy spacey beat punk-n-roll" -Hit List

"Like the Bible and toilet paper, the music of SOUR JAZZ belongs in every household, and none is a home without it." - Handsome Dick Manitoba, The Dictators

"Musically ...ah can we say perfection? not to mention charismatic bassit Mark R. possesses perfect intellectual wit as well!!- Me!

"GuerrillaWrench, a band Boise. Yes Boise Idaho that's right...is a band dedicated to their music and their fans. I have yet the pleasure of seeing them live but I've heard enough to know that I look forward to it! Listen and you'll hear insurgent poety, distortion pedals (swoon!), snazzy drums and a kick ass bass line!" - Me!

"White Rose is coming from the punk rock, but they execute it [in] a variety of styles, with a bit of hardcore and a big 'ol handful of hard rock. They play mostly mid, but sometimes slow-tempo, but on the slower songs the instrumentation is deep enough to use the time wisely. The vocals are abrasively sung, which I really like." - MRR

"It's a true talent to balance great music with an enlightening message about the social injustice that plagues our world today. White Rose hails from Hawaii and to use the term "leid back punk rock" is my own tongue in cheek description. It will make you think and hopefully make you rock as well!" -Me!

I'd like to meet:

"Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying"
-- Andy Dufresne(Shawshank Redemption)

Aslan. Aesop. Andy Dufresne.
and Alex.

Alex Schomburg...that is.

Who is he? Stan Lee said it best about Alex Schomburg, "Alex Schomburg was to comic books what Norman Rockwell was to The Saturday Evening Post...When it came to illustrating covers, there simply was no one else in Alex's league."

And just anyone who says what they MEAN, means what they SAY & DOES what they MEAN & SAY They'll Do - without complaining.

Confused? Most Are.

Music:

MUSIC:
I love music. But I'm not about to make a list of music I love simply because I think it's lame to judge someone by the bands they like or don't like. Instead? I'll offer this:

Servant and Master am I. Servant of those dead and master of those living.

Through me spirits immortal speak. The message that makes the world weep.

I tell the story of Love, the story of Hate, the story that saves and the story that damns.

I am the incense upon which prayers float to heaven.

I am the smoke which palls over the field of battle, where men lie dying with me on their lips.

I am close to the marriage altar and when the graves open I am near by.

I call the wanderer home, I rescue the soul from the depths, I open the lips of lovers and through me the dead whisper to the living.

One I serve as I serve all and the King I make my slave as easily as I subject his slave.

I speak through the birds in the air, the insects in the field, the crash of waters on the ribbed shores, the sighing of the wind in the trees and I am even heard by the soul that knows me in the clatter of the wheels in the city streets.

I know no brother yet all men are my brothers. I am the father of the best that is in them and they are the fathers of the best that is me.

For am I am the instruments of God.

I am Music.

--Anonymous. and then of course like it did with me and my parents, music brings you closer to your kids!
