About Me

What's up guys?! This is a new site that I (a Trey Lockerbie fan) just started to help gather other fans of Trey's music and to find other fans to help promote it as well. My name is Kristen by the way! Hang in there with me as I get this all started. There are a couple banners already available on here and more will start being added. So please check back! Thanks everyone!
Here's the latest Q & A with Trey:
- If I knew absolutely nothing about Trey Lockerbie, how would you describe your music to me?
The way I usually describe my music to people is this: My songs tend to write themselves. My music is an emotional outlet for me and that's why many of my songs are more like stories. Sometimes writing out what you're going through helps you understand how to get through it.
-What kind of message do you hope to send to your fans?
My main message is very simple. We all go through the same things. Not every experience is shared, but for the most part, I find so much comfort in knowing someone else has been through what I'm going through. Whether it's about love or lost or just plain confusion.
- You’ve been on the road for awhile now. What keeps you motivated?
A lot of things keep me motivated. There are still so many places I haven't been or seen. There's all kinds of little experiences that happen every day when you're touring. It's those little times of akward or exciting moments that keeps the road such an entertaining place. It becomes addictive in a way...so now I'm basically addicted to it.
- Do you prefer playing in a venue that holds 200 people or 2000?
I just like an intimate vibe. We've played for a few thousand people where they are very into the music, but sometimes big crowds can be too talkative and loud. I'd rather play for 20 people who were listening to the music than to 2,000 people who could care less.
- You’ve worked with some amazing songwriters, have you gotten the chance to collaborate with any of them?
Yes. It's a funny thing, because I've never been a huge fan of co-writing songs, until I learned how important it is. It really helps you reach for things you haven't tried before. I have a couple co-writes on Josh Kelley's new album that comes out next February. Keaton Simons and I have written a song that might appear on my album. Also, Alexa Wilkinson and I have now written a few songs that I love.
- What's been your favorite moment from the tour you're currently on?
There have been a ton of great moments..but the best I think was when we were in Canada and had dinner at one of the band member's families houses. Everyone on our tour was there, hanging out in the basement, watching football and eating food. It was like a highschool party..where the mom kept coming down to check on us and see if we needed anything. You were probably expecting a moment from the stage, and we've had a lot of that too, but this moment was so funny to me, because we never get home cooked meals on the road and it was just good to hang out and bond with the guys outside of a show night.
-What do you think is the best thing about your job? The worst?
I always say the best AND the worst thing about my job is travel. Traveling can be the best part about your job because it helps spread the music and you get to enjoy new towns and cool experiences. But it can also be the worst because you start missing your closest friends and loved ones.
-With ‘07 coming to a close, what is your goal for 2008?
My goal for 2008 is to have some kind of EP or full length album out and to be doing my own tours, along with touring with other people.
-What do fans have to look forward to in 2008?
Along with an album out, there are going to be Trey Lockerbie shows. I've gotten countless emails about when I'm doing my own shows. I've been holding out until I knew that the show would be great. Once the show is ready early next year, we're going to take it on the road!
-What was your worst on stage experience? And your best?
If I've had a worst experience...it was probably when I broke a string in new orleans and we couldn't get the other guitar to work for like 5 minutes..which felt like an hour. It actually was pretty funny though. We tend to always turn things into a positive outcome. The show turned out great..but I hope that doesn't happen anymore. My best stage experience was probably in Colorado with Josh Hoge a month or so ago. There's a video of it on my myspace page. Just a great crowd and a fun outdoor show.
Please read the blog above...that has to do with Q&A.
If you have any questions you'd like to ask Trey please don't hesitate to drop us a message or email!
